[SG EATS] Qi Lai Feng Fish Pot and Hotpot Restaurant [齐来丰鱼庄 ] At Chinatown Point
Qi Lai Feng Fish Pot and Hotpot restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located at Chinatown Point. The restaurant offers farmed fishes that are specially feed on a specific diet to give the chewy texture similar to pork-texture. They also offer hotpot as well.
My sister and I visited the place recently and we order 3 dishes to try that night. First up the signature Bottomless Mandarin Duck Pot 椒香鱼锅 – S$38.80++ for small pot.
It comes in 3 sizes –S, M & L but I personally feel that their small pot has generous serving portion. This specialty dish features Q fish, yuba, enoki mushroom and konjac noodles. Alternatively, you can opt for other type of fish like Red Grouper, Dory Fish and others.
Diners can add on free pork bone broth at the end of the portion and can be eaten like a hotpot in the end. Diners can add on more ingredients to the hotpot. This is quite interesting and you managed to have 2 ways of eating for this dish. The add-on pork bone broth makes a flavourful broth with the remaining ingredients in it.
Next, Sauerkraut Fish Pot 精品酸菜鱼锅 S$38.80++ for small pot. Diners can opt for Striped Bass or Red Grouper for this dish and it comes with 3 sizes – S, M, L. It is a hot-and-sour fish soup served with pickled mustard greens. It is the combination of tingly Sichuan peppercorns and dried chillies, which is the hallmark of Sichuan cuisine. We can tasted the sourness taste from the broth and the seed of the pepper add up the spices to this dish.
Saliva Chicken 口水鸡 S$8.80++ is quite common in most of the Chinese restaurant. This dish is served with cold chicken in red oil , which is a classic Sichuan dish. Surprisigly, it is not that spicy and best to go with a bowl of white rice.
My sister went back for dinner over the weekend with her friend again. One of the staff even recognized her. As a whole, you can consider to check out their Q fish dry pot. I don’t see it elsewhere and the serving portion is generous. The best part is that you can eat it in 2 ways and you can enjoy hotpot after that. Who doesn’t love hotpot?
