[SG EATS] Folklore @ Destination Hotel – An Heritage Nostalgic Christmas 2019

Folklore located at Destination Hotel celebrates this Christmas with a selection of heritage dishes. This is my second visit to the restaurant (Read my first visit here) and this time round is to try out their Christmas Menu available throughout the month of December 2019. Instead of the usual turkey, ham and yuletide treats, they feature their signature dishes to whet your appetite for this festive season.Satay Pork Ribs Finger with Mango Kerabu S$24.00++
Indonesian dish of seasoned and grilled meat, which is known as satays in skewered, served with mango kerabu. Mango kerabu is an appetising Peranakan-style salad to kick-start the meal.

Barramundi Belly with Homemade Sambal Grilled in Banana Leaf and Chili Cincalok S$30.00++
Instead of stingray, they replaced it with barramundi belly served with spicy sambal grilled in banana leaf and chilli cincalok by the side. The purpose of having the banana leaf is to seal in the moisture of the fish and enhance the flavours of the fish. And barramundi belly is high in collagen and omega 3, hence it has a very smooth texture due to the high fats contents. It is tasty and the strong flavours of the chilli cincalok complement the sweetness of the barramundi. Shiok!

Lam Yu Marinated Fried Half Spring Chicken S$24.00++
Half spring chicken marinated in tasty Chinese fermented red yeast bean curd, fried to perfection. Well-marinated tasty spring chicken and dip it with the sauce to enhance the flavour.

Beef Rendang with Roti Jala S$30.00++
Richly flavoured beef braised till tender and complement with chillies, ginger and 7 spices blended in coconut milk. Shiok! It pairs very well with the thin pancake or crepe with lovely lacy pattern.

Old-Fashioned Kueh Platter S$14.00++
Complete your meal with their hearty platter with assorted Peranakan favourites-a mixture of Kueh dah dah, Kueh kosul, and Kueh ambon.
