We were in Orchard area over the weekend and decided to go Lucky Plaza for bebek penyet. However with the implementation of odd and even data entry restrictions on weekends from Aug 29, my friend and I were unable to enter the building. Thus, we changed our plan to venture for food places at Far East Plaza.It was dinner time around 6 plus and most of the eateries in the building are full house. We finally decided to try Wok Wei Kitchen, located at Level 5. We were glad that we decided on this. This is one of the wallet-friendly spot for zi char in Orchard area.
Wok Wei Kitchen offers variety of zi char dishes and also set meals for 2 or 4 pax at S$18.00 and S$36.00 respectively. We decided on set meals of 2 pax priced at S$18.00. The set consists of Sambal Kangkong, Fu Rong Omelette, Imperial Pork Ribs and two plate of white rice. But we change the pork ribs to salted egg pork ribs with additional S$1.00. So, total payable was S$19.00 for 2 pax.Orders and payment to be made at the counter and they will serve the food. Our food came within 15 mins. The portion is decent for 2 pax and we were glad that we changed the pork ribs to salted egg version. The fried ribs tasted creamy, tasty with well-coated salted egg-flavour. My friend shared that he preferred this over New Station Snack Bar.


As for the Fu Rong omelette, nice plate of omelette comes with imitation crab meat, yellow onions and spring onions. It is typical zi char style omelette to go along with other dishes and white rice.They did a good job on the Sambal Kang Kong. The sambal not too spicy and fragrant smells of hae bee too.We are glad that we came here for dinner and the price is few dollars cheaper than other zi char at coffee shops. The difference is that you can enjoy air-conditioned zi char with price less than S$10.00 per pax.
