Vietnamese Banh Mi is my current obsession and this leads me to Bami Express located at Tanjong Pagar Plaza. This is my second visit here because it was closed on my first visit previously. So this time round, I made my way earlier before they close for the day.Bami Express is an eatery shop with simple decoration just like other banh mi shops I been before. There is a kitchen behind where they bake freshly baguettes daily. You can see it all at the entrance of the shop. I guess they do supply their baguette to restaurant as mentioned on their Facebook Page.
Most customers mainly office crowds will order takeaway here. There are limited table settings in front of the store so that’s explain the reason for takeaway option.Bami Express offers 9 types of Banh mi including vegetarian option. You can see the menu from the photo. They have more options as compared with other banh mi places I tried. All of the sudden I feel like it is Subway vibes but in Vietnamese-style.


I ordered the Bami Saigon S$5.00 and Bami BBQ Chicken S$5.00 to try. The Bami Saigon stuffed with pate, pork ham, stew pork and chicken floss while the Bami BBQ Chicken stuffed with lemongrass grilled chicken and chicken floss. The Bami Saigon has the distinctive sourish crunch from the pickled daikon and carrots, which made the baguette tasted more crispy in terms of texture as a whole. The fillings were quite packed too.As for the chicken version, they stuffed boneless BBQ chicken meats with a bit of smoky flavour. I can taste the lemongrass in it and this is rather fusion version of banh mi. My only complaint is that more sauces will be better though.

Their banh mi price starts from S$4.00 onwards, which i thought it is quite an affordable pricing for a meal.
