[SG EATS] Classic Italian 3-Course Set Lunch at Pete’s Place | Grand Hyatt Singapore
My second visit to Pete’s Place Grand Hyatt Hotel Singapore after 11 years (my last visit was 2009). It is said to be one of the oldest Italian restaurants in Singapore. The restaurant is located at the basement of the hotel along Scott’s Road. You need to go down the staircase upon reaching the hotel lobby. It feels like walking down into a cellar. It was my friend’s first visit and she is surprised to find out that there is a restaurant there. The basement restaurant still look the same as it was with brick walls, wooden furniture and checkered tablecloth.I managed to score discounted Chope Vouchers during 11.11 sale for their set lunch deals. So I ‘jio’ my friend for their 3-course set lunch priced at S$35.00++ . The 3-course set lunch comes with a starter, mains and dessert.
Starters
We ordered Clamari Fritti (Crispy squid, garlic aioli and lemon) and Bruschetta Al Pomodoro (Toasted ciabatta bread, organic heirloom tomatoes, basil, garlic). We are in love with both starters. The fried calamari has a very crispy and mild flavour and dipping with the garlic aioli is simply addictive. The classic bruschetta with simple ingredients tasted wonderfully flavourful.
Mains
We are sharing so we ordered 1 spaghetti and 1 pizza. As for spaghetti, we had the Linguini Alla Vongole– Linguini, clams, white wine, chilli, garlic and parsley and Diavola – Italian pepperoni sausage, plum tomatoes and mozzarella pizza. We thought the spaghetti tasted a bit salty though but the portion and ingredients are well-served. The thin crispy crusted pizza was not bad but not the best I had. I thought the one I had during my last visit was better.
Dessert
We also ordered two different desserts to share. The recommended Tiramisu and Panna Cotta Alla Vaniglia. Both were good but our favourite was their Tiramisu. It is also their popular choice of dessert here. The rich tiramisu treat consists of savory mascarpone cream, ladyfingers and espresso.
Their starters and desserts were the highlight for our meal. It is great to be back here for the food. We also lucky to chance upon the discounted voucher to utilize it.
