[SG EATS] The Art of Curation Menu Dining Experience by Golden Peony | Conrad Centennial Singapore
Golden Peony, a multi award-wining Chinese restaurant located on the third floor of Conrad Centennial Singapore has launched The Art of Curation recently. Riding on the previous success of the Discovery Menu, Executive Chinese Chef Ku Keung launched the next Discovery Menu series available for lunch and dinner. The menu includes the unconventional culinary creations from scrumptious dim sum dishes to signature dishes. We were there for Rediscovery Singapore’s Menu (dinner menu) priced at S$68.00++ per pax. The menu includes 1 Appetizer, Soup, Fish, Rice/Noodles and Desserts. Diners can opt to add-ons S$10.00++ per order for poutltry/meat dish instead of fish dish.
For Appetizer, we each chose one and I had the Crispy Soft Shell Crab while my friend had Duo Magnificent. The Salt Spiced Crispy Soft Shell Crab served with truffle and signature homemade XO sauce. Duo Magnificent appetizer comes with ‘PEASY’ ‘Pao-Pao’ Minced London Duck Pancake Roll, Parma Ham, Pineapple, Crispy Beancurd Skin.
Next, we had double-boiled soup with our choice. I had the nourishing ‘PEASY’ Homemade Crabmeat Ball Broth infused with ‘Rose’, Sea Whelk, Bamboo Pith while my friend tried Double Boiled Kami Sakura Chicken with black garlic and prawn. Both equally comforting, light with healing properties. For example, like black garlic, its antioxidants help reduce inflammation in the body and prevent cognitive conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.
For fish dish, they have the Kuhlbarra-Barramundi and Jade Perch with the choice of cooking. We were recommended to try the fish with preserved capsicum chilli sauce along with baby spinach and fish broth.
Diners can top up option with additional charge of S$10.00++ per order with choices like Stewed Lamb, Stewed Wagyu Cheek or Baked Kurobuta Pork. We tried the Stewed Lamb with Saffron, Codonopsis and Cumin. Well-executed dish with no gamey taste at all. I am loving it! As for the Stewed Wagyu Cheek, the meat was tender, juicy and super soft mouthfeel. Shiok!
Moving on is our choice of Rice/ Noodle. I had the Half Lobster Fragrant Poached Rice with Superior Broth while my friend had Half Lobster Crispy Egg Noodle with Signature Ginger, Scallion and Egg Sauce. Flavourful broth for both rice and noodle and full of ingredients.
As for our desserts, we opt for Chilled Cream of Avocado and Soya Pudding. The Chilled Cream of Avocado is served with Chia Seed, Vanilla Ice-cream and Pannacotta. If you prefer light and refreshing dessert, go for Soya Pudding that comes in a shape of fish with aloe vera, peach resin, longan and red date broth.
Overall dining experience was good, and service was pleasant too. The menu comes with affordable pricing as well. If you are planning for special occasion or Chinese gourmet dining experience without bursting your budget, try here.
