Opulence 3-Head Abalone Yusheng S$198.00++ (L) | S$128.00++ (S)
All fine dining restaurants
Toss to prosperity with Group Executive Chef Foo’s creation of vibrant and healthy ‘yusheng’. It is one of my favourite yusheng place to go in my list. Presented on a plate is the colourful and appetizing picture with choice ingredients such as coins of red dragonfruit, dried yuzu peel, Japanese picked sweet ginger,homemade pickled cucumbers,carrot, white and green radish julienne, deep-fried yam strips, chickpeas and fine Hsin Chu beehoon for crunch. The yusheng is completed with edible gold leaves, fresh flowers and crowned with lightly-torched abalone slices from Australia, jellyfish and ikura/ salmon roe. Lastly, tossed in an uplifting roselle and yuzu-based dressing.
Double-Boiled Kampong Chicken with American Sea Whelk and Tiger Palm Mushroom Soup
S$28.00++ per pax | Crystal Jade Palace
Nourishing and comforting double-boiled soup with chewy American Sea Whelk for the texture and in-depth flavour from the Tiger Palm Mushroom.
Pan-fried Sea Cucumber Stuffed with Kurobuta Pork, Black Moss, Chinese Iron Yam and Scalliion
S$48.00++ per pax | Crystal Jade PalaceI really missed the Pan-fried Sea Cucumber I had last year. For this year version, we had the ‘surf-and-turf’ option of Pan-fried Sea cucumber stuffed with kurobuta pork, black moss with Chinese ‘iron yam’ and scallion. Umami flavours and different texture to expect from this plate of premium ingredients.
Steamed Chilean Cod Fish with Red and Green Chilli in Puning Sauce
S$22.80++ per pax | Crystal Jade Dining IN
Nice and flaky steamed cod fish with spicy,light zesty taste sauce to it enchance the flavour of the whole dish.
Steamed Salted Chicken with Ginger and Scallion Sauce
S$20.80++ for half, S$39.80++ for whole | Crystal Jade Hong Kong Kitchen & La Mian Xiao Long Bao
Steamed salted chicken that retains the flavour, tenderness, and moisture through the use of steam along with aromatic ginger and scallion sauce. Tasty indeed!
Crisp-Fried Brussel Sprouts with Fresh Silken Beancurd Skin
S$12.00++ per portion | Crystal Jade Palace
Firmed and soft fresh silken beancurd skim goes pretty well with the crisp-fried brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts add a delicious depth of flavour to the dish.
Deep-fried Pumpkin Ball with Lava Salted Egg Yolk
S$9.80++ for 3pcs | Crystal Jade Golden Palace
Crispy Pandan Glutinuous Rice Cake ‘Nian Gao’
S$12.80++ for 6pcs | Crystal Jade Palace
Yuzu Mandarin Orange Jelly
S$23.80 | From Festive Takeaway Goodies
Lastly, we had the sweet desserts to mark the end of the meal. Those who love lava salted egg yolk, try their version. As for the Crispy Pandan Glutinous Rice Cake ‘Nian Gao’, I thought it was crispy enough but prefer the nian gao to be more subtle though. If you prefer something light and refreshing, try their Yuzu Mandarin Orange Jelly.
