[SG EATS] REVISIT Jia Wei Chinese (家味) Restaurant at Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy

Back to Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant located at the second floor of Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy recently. I still remember my first visit here was quite a delish experience. This time round I am back to check out the ala carte menu and new dim sum offerings. The restaurant also offer lunch set deals that worth checking too. Or enjoy 20% discount when you order from here.

Butterfly Pea Har Gow 3pcs per basket S$7.80++ and Australian Scallop in Pea Flower Rice Roll S$8.80++Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant-Butterfly Pea Har GowJia Wei Chinese Restaurant-Australian Scallop in Pea Flower Rice Roll
Feast your eyes with the dim sum presentation. Both are served in blue with skin made with butterfly pea flower. It is rich in antioxidants and good for health too. Fresh fillings used and it is generous in portion too.

Wok-Fried Daikon Cake with XO Sauce S$10.00++Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant-Wok-Fried Daikon Cake with XO Sauce
My favourite dish that you should not miss out when you dine here. Nicely coated and wok-fried to golden crispy exterior yet the inside retains the softness and moist of the radish cake. The XO sauce enhances the aromatic savoury flavour to it. Yummy!

Crispy Local Farm Soft Shell Crab with Crystal Ice Plant, Plum-infused Tomato and Yuzu Dressing S$22.00++Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant-Crispy Local Farm Soft Shell Crab with Crystal Ice Plant, Plum-infused Tomato and Yuzu Dressing
My second time having this and still enjoyed it very much. A good combination in terms of all the ingredients as well as the textures and taste. It is quite a refreshing appetizer or starter to begin our mains.

Curly Kale Soup with Braised Crab Meat and Bean Curd S$20.00++Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant-Curly Kale Soup with Braised Crab Meat and Bean Curd
Not everyone is a fan of greens, but this probably will change your perspective because even my friend who doesn’t take greens enjoyed it. This bowl of goodness is made using locally-sourced vegetables. The soup tasted mild, and the kale taste is not overpowering at all. It was smoothing and comforting bowl.

Wok-fried Wagyu Beef Cubes, Black Garlic and Asparagus S$48.00++Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant-Wok-fried Wagyu Beef Cubes, Black Garlic and Asparagus
Nicely wok-fried wagyu beef cubes with black garlic, which is higher in antioxidants than raw garlic along with asparagus.

Wok-Fried Celtuce Stem, Szechuan Dried Chilli S$24.00++Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant-Wok-Fried Celtuce Stem, Szechuan Dried Chilli
Celtuce stem is prized for its woody stem, which looks like a thick asparagus stalk or wasabi root has a nutty, cucumber-esque flavor. Chef wok-fried it and give a good mix of Szechuan Dried Chilli for a good spiced up for the dish.

Crispy Noodles, Ocean Gems, Chicken Broth Gravy S$26.00++Crispy Noodles, Ocean Gems, Chicken Broth Gravy- Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant
Crispy noodles soaked in chicken broth gravy and variety of seafood ingredients in it are simply ridiculously comforting.

Chilled Home-Made Coconut Pudding with Ice-cream S$15.00++Lastly, we ended the dinner with their signature dessert that comes with dried ice for the effect. Refreshing sweet note from the young coconut and the ice-cream.

I would still recommend here for family dinner and group gatherings as the food here is worth the price in terms of quality and portion. Although the ambiance might not be the best, you will still leave with belly-satisfied when you leave the restaurant. Well, at least for most of us.
