This year’s mid-autumn festival (中秋节), also known as Lantern Festival/ Mooncake Festival falls on 10th September 2022. Mid-Autumn festival symbolizes the family reunion, and, on this day, all families will appreciate the Moon in the evening. Reason being it’s because it is the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese lunisolar calendar, when the moon is at its fullest.
Mooncakes symbolize togetherness and harmony. As years pass, many places have launched variety of flavours apart from the most traditional ones- lotus seed paste with salted egg yolk in the centre. It is best to enjoy with tea or wine.
