[SG EATS] Diwali Dining Affair with North Indian Specialities at Tiffin Room
Celebrate this Diwali with majestic North Indian flavours and aromas amidst the grandeur of Raffles Hotel Singapore’s historic Tiffin Room. Tiffin Room is one of Singapore’s oldest Indian restaurants since 1892. I am always delighted to be back here and this time for a specially assembled Diwali set menu by award-winning Chef Kuldeep Negi exclusively from 10 to 24 October 2022. Delectable Mithai handcrafted sweets in an enchanting Mithai gift box are available as well.
We started off with Amuse Bouche- Dal Pakori from Delhi and Fafda Chaat from Gujarat. It is a well-loved Indian snack with delicious lentil dumplings and crispy chickepea flour bread complemented with tamarind and mint chutney.
Next, our appetizer is the Tandoori Red Snapper. Chef uses red snapper specially procured from the Malabar coast in India. The fish is marinated with special blended spices and grilled accompanied with robust tomato chutney, plus cheese marinated tandoori broccoli.
And of course, we are served with iconic Tiffin Box for our mains. It consists of Mehi Gosht which features a succulent saddle of lamb enhanced with dried fenugreek, spinach, and fragrant spices; and Mahi Musallam, a classic which typically features chicken, chef’s take spotlights delicate Japanese sea bream accompanied with a rich almond and cashew nut gravy. Murgh Dhansak, a Parsi signature dish featuring juicy boneless leg of chicken paired with sweet pineapple chunks and elevated with Indian spices, will also be made available. Look forward to Chettinad Prawn Biryani, fluffy basmati rice layered with fresh prawns paired with refreshing notes from rose water, saffron, fresh mint and coriander leaves. Indulge with your choice of Garlic Naan, Keema Kulcha (Stuffed Flatbread) and Laccha Parantha (traditional flatbead) to complete the meal.
Finish off with quintessential sweet treats- Date Halwa and Shahi Tukra. Sweetness from the stewed dates where it is popular to the Kashmir region. Shahi Tukra, the bread pudding traditionally prepared on important occasions and religious holidays such as Eid and Ramadan Iftar.
