[SG EATS] Diwali Celebration with The Song of India- Deepavali Menu 2017
My last visit to The Song Of India was to check out their Valentine Menu and fast forward it’s Diwali Celebration! In less than 3 weeks, we are going to celebrate Happy Deepavali. Chef Mural has specially designed this Asian-inspired Deepavali Menu for this year. The special menu is available from 18 October – 22 October 2017 and is priced at S$79.00++. The menu is also available in vegetarian version.
Here is the non-vegetarian version menu I tried during the tasting session:
Autumn Sensation Shorba
Comforting chicken broth soup sprinkled with edible flowers and herbs. It has the sensation texture with the added elements.
Chargrilled Laksa Flavoured Chicken Kebab & Sambal Barramundi Tikka
Tender chicken morsel kebab enhanced with Asian laksa spice and housemade sambal marinated spicy barramundi fish cooked in tandoor. Both are served with traditional Deepavali savouries. Aromatic spices and intriguing flavours I would say especially the barramundi fish.
Deepavali Song’s Art Pallette
This beautiful art piece consists of Nargisi quail egg kofta, Mangalorian prawn gassi, Murg Malai Khumb (chicken roulade stuffed with a cheesy mushroom in lazeez sauce), Kashhmri Nadru (young lotus root cooked in a coriander & mint cashew sauce), Gujrati Kadhi(gujrati yoghurt curry), Navratan Pulao (Fine fragrant basmanti pulao with nine varieties of nuts), Aam Ka Panna ( Roasted raw mango flavoured drink shot) and masala puri & assorted hot tandoori bread basket.
I love how everything was served in small portions. This allows me to taste a bit of each and at the same time taste the varieties flavours of Indian cuisine. And the best part is that I can have different gravy for my naan too!
Paan & Pistachio Kulfi & Saffron Gulab Jamun Cheese Cake
We had betelnut & pistachio frostie made in house and saffron & gulab jamun inspired crafted cheese cake.
We also tried their 2017 Deepavali Collection Mithai flavours in mini bites size. My favourite among the 6 flavours is the black sesame. Mithai –giving is a sign of strengthening friendship and a gesture of goodwill towards others.
The Song of India offers unique Mithai gift boxes and you can check out from the official website.
