[SG EATS] Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar – New Age Chinese Cuisine

Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen and Bar is situated in the middle of the bustling offices on Alexandra Road. The restaurant accommodates up to 120 people, with both indoor and al fresco seating. Blue Lotus offers delectable Mediterranean favourites like tapas, pizzas, pastas, paellas and succulent meat dishes.
Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar
Let’s take a look at some items on the menu at this cosy sea blue painted place.
Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar-Octopus and squid carpaccio
Starting with the appetiser is the Octopus and squid carpaccio (S$16.00++). Don’t let the looks of this dish fool you, the is a surprising dish. When this was served, I kept looking for the octopus and squid. I thought it was below the pile of vegetables and the rest were onions. But surprise! The onion looking thing is actually the octopus! The thinly sliced octopus, mixed along with the sauce and vegetables, makes a great appetiser.
Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar-Venus clams in the pot
Cooked with white wine sauce, and served with garlic butter, you got to try the Venus clams in the pot (S$18.00++). The Clams are fresh and the flavours simply soak in immediately. This dish is also served with freshly toasted bread, is perfect for a dip in the sauce too.
Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar-Signature chilli pomelo crab balls
Blue lotus’s Signature chilli pomelo crab balls (S$22.00++) is also available here and it did not disappoint. For a fried dish, this was not too oily for me. What stood out was how this dish is fried yet the crab fillings inside remained soft and juicy. Paired along with the chilli crab sauce, this is one of the few excellent chilli crab creations so far!
Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar-Serrana pizza
Along with Iberico chorizo, and Manchego cheese, this Serrana pizza (S$20.00++) will ship you to the meditarrian times. Every ingredient complemented each other and it isn’t very greasy.
Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar-Tiger prawn risotto
The Tiger Prawn Risotto (S$28.00++) was perfect for me. The tiger prawns are chewy and the asparagus is a dream. The asparagus is grilled but the moment you put into your mouth, the asparagus is so soft that it questions your taste buds if this was really an asparagus.
Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar -Classic rice paella
Seafood lover rejoice! This Classic Rice Paella (S$26.00++) is for you. This was cooked with seafood and chicken broth mix and with ingredients such as tiger prawns, squids and blue mussels, the taste was cooked to perfection. None of the seafood overtook each other, instead, they complimented each other well.
Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar-Vegetal lasagne
It’s my first time having a vegetarian lasagne and the Vegetal lasagne (S$22.00++) did not disappoint. The cheese is smothered all over the lasagne and beneath the lasagne contained ingredients such as zucchini, eggplant, Portobello mushroom and béchamel sauce. The pairing was amazing. This is something non-vegetarians should also consider the next time you visit Blue Lotus.
Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar-Grilled meat platter
Next up, is the Grilled meat platter (S$38.00++). Served with lamb rack, beef ribeye, chicken leg and alongside some vegetables, this dish is perfect for sharing! Dipped your lamb rack into the homemade sauces, and let your taste buds party.
Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar-Grilled Atlantic octopus legs with herbs 1
The Grilled Atlantic octopus legs with herbs (S$26.00++) are my favourite. Top of the octopus legs are usually fatter compared to the bottom part, and it’s a challenge to grilled it juicy consistently from top to bottom. However, this was an exception, the juiciness is grilled consistently from the top part to the bottom part. I fell in love with this dish at first bite. The chewiness was there. And with a price tag of $26, this dish is worth more than the price.
Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar-Cheese cake cup
With the cheese whisked to foamy perfection, fresh berries, and a perfect crust, the Cheese cake cup (S$8.00) top my list of cheesecake immediately. The cheese keeps you going for more. You know how some cheesecakes tastes make you tired after a few bites, this doesn’t. I love it.

Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar, is a hidden gem in Alexandra. It’s a perfect place to catch up with old pals and relax after a long day. And if you are looking to pop by here for lunch, do check out their value for money lunch promotion!
