[SG EATS] Bountiful Blessings & Splendid Feast at Royale Restaurant | Mercure Singapore Bugis

Come celebrating this Lunar New Year 2018 with Royale Restaurant at Mercure Singapore Bugis from 9 February to 2 March 2018. I was invited to food tasting recently to check out their bountiful Lunar New Year buffet feast priced from S$58.00++ per person.

Let me share with you some of the festive highlights from the buffet spread.
DIY Yu Sheng

Yu Sheng is a must-have dish in every CNY dishes. Diners can have DIY Yu Sheng here with the ready ingredients like crispy fish skin, crushed peanuts, carrot slices and many more. Here’s a picture of the ready-made Yu Sheng prepared by the staff for us.

Braised Fish Maw and Crabmeat Soup

The broth was tad thick and gooey but taste wise was rather bland for my preference. Nevertheless, the ingredients are quite generous.

Roasted Suckling Piglet

It has been a while since I last had roasted suckling piglet. It was crispy and sliced in bite-sized pieces for serving.

Charcoal BBQ Char Siew

It was simply addictive with subtle sweetness on the outer layer of the char siew. The charcoal BBQ char siew is made in-house by the chef.

Hong Kong Style Waxed Meat Rice wrapped in Lotus Leaf

For carbs, check out the Hong Kong style waxed meat rice wrapped in lotus leaf. It is definitely a filling dish.

The local favourite dish- Chili Crab is available with mini mantou served separately. Be sure to grab the mantou to dip with the chilli crab gravy!

Wok-Fried Crispy Cereal Prawns

Chicken Bak Kwa

Bak Kwa is a must-have CNY snacks to have. The ones served here has a well-balanced of sweetness and barbecued taste.

Traditional Nian Gao

Don’t forget the traditional snack for the CNY. It would taste even better I can have it while it’s warm. The taste would be even better.

Osmanthus Jelly

Go for osmanthus jelly if you prefer dessert in lighter taste. I enjoyed this especially it helps to cleanse my palate after the buffet spread. It is something light to end the meal.
