[SG EATS] Celebrate Lunar New Year The Peranakan Way At Indocafe – The White House
My sisters are a fan of Indocafe Peranakan dishes and they were excited when I brought them along to check out the Lunar New Year Menu recently. This time round we were served with tasting portion of 2 pax. So, for the photos shown in the blog post is tasting portion. The actual portion is served based on the stated menu accordingly.
For this Lunar New Year, the restaurant offers 7 different menus including Happiness, Wealth Luck, Opulence, Prosperous, Fortune and Bountiful. These menus are cater for 3-4 pax, 5-6 pax , 8 pax and 10 pax respectively.
Here are the highlights from the Happiness Menu for 3-4 pax:
Glorious Prosperity- Salmon Yu Sheng
We started off with Yu Sheng served with their homemade curry sauce. This is my second time and I am still loving it. The curry sauce adds in flavours to the traditional yusheng.
Fish Maw Soup with Prawn Ball Pig Tripe & Fatt Choy
Light and comforting soup I would say. Each diner will be served in individual portion.
Deep-fried Red Snapper with Assam Gulai Sauce
This is best to go with a bowl of white rice especially with the assam gulai sauce.
Roasted Chicken with Chef’s Signature Sauce
Mushroom & Pork Skin
Fried Hong Kong Noodles with leek, carrot & seafood
Bubur Cha Cha with glutinous ball.
We ended our meal with a bowl of bubur cha cha and peanut glutinous ball.
This menu costs S$208.00++ for 3-4 pax. As compared to previous year dishes, the current ones are lacking of Peranakan style in it. You can read the previous year dishes here. Nevertheless the food and service quality here are always consistent. Diners will leave the place with a smile on their face.
