[SG EATS] Sri Lankan Crab Feast At Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant (萬豪軒) | Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel
Indulge in Sri Lanka Crab Feast at Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant from 2 October to 30 November 2018. The renowned award-wining Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant is known to be serving exquisite Cantonese food is located at level 3 of Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. Their current promotion showcases crab creations from dim sums, ala carte dishes and to set menus.
Here are some highlight dishes I tried during the tasting session.
For Dim Sum:
Steamed Four-Season Crab Meat Dumpling (四季蟹肉饺) S$8.00++ per 2 pieces
Pan-fried Crab Meat and Pork Bun (青葱蟹肉香煎包) S$8.00++ per 2 pieces
Deep-fried Netted Rice Roll with Crab Meat and Prawn (银网双鲜卷) S$10.00++ per 2 pieces
Main Course
Braised Crab Claw with White Pepper Heng Hua Vermicelli ( 白胡椒蟹钳银粉煲)- Available in Set Menu B ( S$88.00++ per person)
Comforting rice noodles served with braised crab claw is one of the highlight of the night. The Sri Lanka crab meat has the succulent and fleshy meat that gives the sweet flavours and the peppery seafood broth enhances the flavours of the dish. The best part is that it is ready peeled crab claw!
Deep-fried Sri-Lankan Crab with Spiced Chicken Floss (风味肉松斯里兰卡蟹) S$50.00++ per portion (500-600gm)
Everyone was so quiet enjoying the dish during the tasting session. We loved the crispy chicken floss coated all over the succulent Sri Lanka crab. It has the salty and sweet flavours to the dish. Finger licking good indeed!
Conch & Codonopsis Pilosula (root) Chicken soup with double-boiled fish maw ( 党参响螺炖花胶 )-Available in Set Menu B ( S$88.00++ per person)
It is a warm bowl of comforting, tasty and generous portion of fish maw. The soup is nourishing and light soup with intense flavours.
Sautéed Asparagus and Bamboo pith stuffed with crab meat in Crab Roe Sauce ( 双蟹竹笙卷) -Available in Set Menu A & B
The bamboo pith is also known as bamboo mushroom that grows on bamboo plants. It is soaked and cleaned thoroughly before stuffing with crab meats.
Rock Sugar Ginger Tea Gingko Nut & Double-boiled Hashima ( 姜茶莲子雪蛤) -Available in Set Menu B ( S$88.00++ per person)
We ended the night with sweet and nutritious dessert.
Other dishes include Braised Sri Lankan Crab in Szechuan Ma La Sauce, Deep-fried Sri Lankan Crab with Salted Egg and Oatmeal, Steamed Sri Lankan Crab with Premium Chinese Wine and Egg White priced at S$50.00++per portion ( 500-600gm) and Deep-fried Crab Claw with Shrimp Paste and Crab Roe Sauce S$22.00++ each.
