Shisen Hanten by Chen Kentaro , 2 Michelin Starred Sichuan Restaurant at Mandarin Orchard usher this Chinese New Year with 7 auspiciously-themed set menu starting from 10 January to 8 February 2020. The menu is available from 8-course -Prosperity menu priced S$538.00++ for 4 pax, to 9-course- Majestic Menu priced S$2,988.00++ for 10pax. And the highlight for the new dishes include the Roasted Brown Rice-fed Chicken topped with Garlic, Mala-glazed Barbecued Pork, and Braised “Rat Noodle” with Lobster in Superior Broth. Toss with prosperity with abalone, spot prawn and salmon yusheng. Huat ah!

Next, we had the comforting and nutrient taste of double-boiled fish maw, dried scallop, sea cucumber, crab meat, and seaweed in Chinese consommé.

Sauteed king prawn in Chinese-spiced barbeque sauce, served with crispy-fried longan stuffed with shrimp paste.




Aromatic braised pork belly and lotus seed in red glutinous rice wine.

Steamed east-spotted grouper fillet layered with ham, mushroom and vegetable. Delicate flavours and sweetness from the grouper and pair well with the rest of the ingredients.
Braised ‘rat noodle’ with lobster and roasted garlic in superior broth is best way to welcome the year of rat as the silver needle noodles much like a rat’s tail.
Lastly, we wrapped up with double-boiled superior bird’s nest with red date served in young coconut accompanied with gold ingot pineapple cookie.
