[SG EATS] Peach Garden Chinese Restaurant Presents “OISHI- Flavours of Japan” From 2 March to 30 April 2020
Peach Garden Chinese Restaurant launches “OISHI Flavours of Japan”, a delectable menu with a unique Nipponese twist, prepared with premium ingredients sourced directly from the country. This menu is available from 02 March 2020 to 30 April 2020. The menu showcases brand new dim sum, a la carte and set menu offerings, just in time to celebrate the Cherry Blossom session. The menu is available at all seven outlets- OCBC Centre, Hotel Miramar, Thomson Plaza, NTU Blk N2.1, Chinatown Point, The Metropolis, and Changi Airport T2, except for the dim sum items, which are only available at Thomson Plaza and Hotel Miramar.
Dim Sum
*ONLY available at Thomson Plaza and Hotel Miramar Outlets* Featuring the Steamed Siew Mai with Sea Urchin S$8.80++ , classic siew mai is crowned with premium grade uni and Steamed Xiao Long Bao with A5 Wagyu Beef S$8.80++. Next is the Steamed Dumpling with Japanese Geoduck Clam S$7.80++, a lux har gow with dainty spinach juice-dotted bonnet topped with a slice of clam. There are other options like Steamed Rice Roll with Japanese Oyster S$7.80++ and Deep-fried Avocado Roll with Japanese Sweet Shrimp S$6.80++.
Chilled Sea Urchin Tofu S$22.00++Beautifully presented on ice, the Chilled Sea Urchin Tofu is inspired by the combination of century egg and tofu aka pitan tofu. The dish comes with sake-spiked century egg sauce made with the yolk, topped with minced century egg ‘white’ and garnished with the quintessential Japanese otsumami (snack) or they named it baby sardine. It’s quite interesting combination of ingredients with umami flavour but lack of uni taste in it.
Pan-fried Shirobuta Pork with Chef’s Special Sauce S$28.00++They uses loin cut marinated in salt and pepper and paired with seasonal vegetables, edible golden popped rice and a choice of chef’s special sauce. There are a total of 3 flavours to choose from, which includes black pepper, mushroom or mala sauce. My preference is that the Shirobuta Pork tasted good on its own and of course to enhance the flavours, go for the black pepper or mala sauce.
Poached Surimi-men with Japanese OysterInstagram-worthy springy, pretty-in-pink noodles served in a comforting superior broth and topped with fresh plump Japanese oysters. This is one of the highlight from the 6-course set menu priced at S$68.00++ per person, across all outlets.
Flaming Seafood Fried Rice in Whole Japanese Pumpkin S$28.00++Get ready your phone or camera for the ‘WOW’ moment when the staff set it alight at the table. The dish served with prawns, scallops, morsels of sweet pumpkin and topped with a layer of melted cheese. Shiok! Especially if you are a cheese lover.
Sweet TemptationWe ended our meal with Sweet Temptation , a half and half creamy pumpkin and pandan-infused sweet potato paste, embodying the Cantonese term ‘ Yuan Yang’ along with the beautiful flower-shaped pastry filled with Mandarin peel-accented red bean paste.
