[SG EATS] Prix Fixe Lunch S$49.00++ Experience at Spago by Wolfgang Puck| Marina Bay Sands Singapore
Spago by Wolfgang Puck is located at Level 57 of the well-known attraction spot known as Marina Bay Sands Singapore. The fine dining restaurant has a spectacular view spot overlooking the city of Singapore and another side with the infinity swimming pool of Marina Bay Sands.Spago Singapore is by Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group and their flagship is in California, in Beverly Hills. Others are located in Maui, Las Vegas, Istanbul and Singapore.
We made a lunch reservation to celebrate one of our friend’s birthday.Prior to the reservation, we were informed that there is a dress code of business casual to dine in.
Upon arrival, you will see the Spago Bar and Lounge on your right and the fine dining area on your left. We were greeted with a smile and lead us to our designated dining area.As we browse through the menu, we decided to settle with Spago Lunch Prix Fixe Menu S$49.00++. They are currently running promotion for their 5th Year Anniversary and it is pretty a good deal. You guys can check it out.
We got our orders sorted and they started to serve us the complimentary breads. It was a nice pipping hot breads served with unsalted butter and seaweed salted butter that we all enjoyed.
The Spago Lunch Prix Fixe menu comes with a choice of Starter, Main Course and Dessert. So it is basically a 3-course lunch menu.Full menu here.
For starter, I had “Kaya Toast” Foie Gras Terrie with additional S$5.00++. Basically we called it ‘atas’ kaya toast where they serve tosted brioche with kaya jam, confit egg yolk and aged soy salt. They are generous with the rich buttery foie gras terrie. Shiok as I topped with a slab of foie gras on my brioche. It is a combination of sweet and savory note for starter. The jumble of ingredients give an interesting orchestra flavour.
Moving on is my choice of main course, Grilled Iberico Pork Pressa. This is highly recommended by the service staff when I asked for recommendation. I glad I heed his advice and go for it. Well executed grilled pork shoulder steak done in medium served with shallot marmalade, fuji apples and Allspice. The pork shoulder steak is rich in flavour and succulent in texture that my friend tasted it and mistakenly thought it is beef. Also, the slices of fuji apples are all soaked with the flavours.
Finally for dessert, I had the Gianduja “Pot De Creme” with additional S$10.00++. Rich Gianduja Creme, Chocolate Shortbread, Hazelnuts served with Raspberry Lychee Sorbet. The refreshing raspberry lychee sorbet gives a good balance from the dark chocolate and you won’t feel too ‘jerlak’ to finish the whole piece by yourself.
While some restaurants do provide complimentary desserts for birthday celebration, Spago Singapore does not provide this service. However, they are thoughtful enough to take note during the reservation and gave the birthday boy and girl a birthday greeting card and special written “Happy Birthday” on their respective desserts. Impeccable service here and the service staffs here are well-trained I would say.
This is indeed one of a good choice for any celebration because most tables are celebrating birthdays or anniversaries during our dine-in session. Probably that’s explain why no complimentary desserts service here which I think it’s totally fine because it has a beautiful settings and good service.
