[SG EATS] Jia Bin Klang Bak Kut Teh (嘉宾 巴生肉骨茶) At Rangoon Road – A Taste of Malaysian-style Bak Kut Teh
Jia Bin Klang Bak Kut Teh located at Rangoon Road is one of the Malaysian-style Bak Kut Teh you can find in Singapore. The eatery is originated from Seremban, Malaysia and they also brought in Klang-style bak kut teh as well. If you are familiar with Klang bak kut teh, then you will know it is the dry version that you cannot find in many places.
Ever since Covid-19 hits, we been missing Malaysia food very much. It has been almost a year since we last enter Malaysia. Hopefully the border will open soon and families can get reunited.
My sisters and I visited Jia Bin Bak Kut Teh around 5.30pm on a Saturday evening and it was long queue upon arrival. We took our queue number and order chit order and waited patiently for our turn. We waited for an hour to secure a table for 3 pax.

We ordered the signature Jia Bin Bak Kut Teh S$8.80 (S) to share. It comes with mixture of ingredients like pork belly, tau pok, pig stomach and pig intestine. The moment my sister drank the first sip of broth, they both said ” I am back to Malaysia”. It is that familiar herbal taste that gives the comforting feel. The herbal taste is not overwhelming and the meats were tender and flavourful too. The best part is that we can top up the soup without additional charges. Shiok!
Next, Jia Bin Dry Bak Kut Teh S$8.80 (S) that comes with sweet reduced dark sauce. Although it is not as flavorful as the one that I tried at Klang, it is still a pretty good pot of goodness to indulge. We would prefer more packed flavours though.
We went greedy and ordered Jia Bin Hua Diao Wine Chicken S$8.80 to try too. The aromatic Chinese wine and the tender chicken cooked in sweet dark sauce best to go with a bowl of white rice.
We also waited to order Salted Vegetables but it was sold out by evening. Thus, we go for Choy Sim with Oyster Sauce S$5.00 (no photo).
My sister is a fan of chicken feet and we decided to order for Braised Chicken Feet S$5.00. The chicken feet is high in collagen and was quite soft after braising. But we thought it would be even better if the flavours are stronger though.
We add on Crispy Beancurd and You Tiao (no photo) priced at S$2.50 each to complete our meal. And of course 2 bowls of rice S$1.00 each to share among three of us. Total bill was S$47.90 inclusive our Chinese Tea priced at S$1.50 each pax.
There is no GST and service charge applicable. If you planning to come over, be prepare to queue for at least an hour. They only accept walk-ins now.
