Binary, newly opened Gastrobar Restaurant located at Palais Renaissance is offering Asian and Western flavours on its menu. The 45-seater gastro-bar has an alfresco terrace apart from its indoor dining space. Not to mention that the indoor dining space include bar seats, regular tables, and a semi-private room. I would suggest making reservation before you head down due to avoid any disappointment.


The menu has 6 categories – Bread & Chips, Small Plates, Kebabs, Mains, On the Side, and Desserts. The menu also offers an extensive drinks menu with over 60 wine labels along with their signature cocktails, craft beers and sakes. We started with Binary’s signature cocktails such as refreshing Chrysanthemum Tea S$24.00++, The Spice It Up S$24.00++ and many more.

Let’s move on the dishes we had over the dinner session.
Homemade Kubaneh Bread S$14.00++


Our favourite of all is this Yemenite Jewish classic feature rolls that pull apart accompanied with butter at the side. The bread is soft, fluffy, and buttery. Thumbs up for this!

Tomato S$14.00++
Bruschetta with Fresh Tomato Concasse and Sour Plum Infused Tomatoes.

Tiger Prawns S$18.00++
Tiger Prawns with Gambas Al Ajillo. Prawns served with garlic, parsley, and chili flakes in olive oil.

Octopus S$28.00++
The octopus is grilled a la pancha and done in the Asian style with “Lao Gan Ma Chilli”. A mix of Western and Asian influence in this dish, which goes well with alcohol drinks like beer. The combination worked out perfectly well especially the chili punch. We enjoyed it.




Chicken Wings S$18.00++

Next, Asian “Nasi Lemak” style chicken wings served with sambal tumis. I thought the sambal is at the sweeter note and missing the chili punch here, but the fried chickens are not bad. Crispy and juicy texture packed with Asian flavours. Highly recommend to pair with beer and alcohol drinks.

Cheese S$18.00++

Not your usual cheese dish as the burrata is wrapped within a golden crust and layered with green pesto alla genovese. As you cut open the cheese ball, the solid outer curd made from fresh mozzarella rolled out. Indulge in the sweet, rich cream and curds flavours from the burrata and pesto’s herbal, slightly nutty element balances off well.

Mushroom Fritti & Parmesan Bacon Cauliflower S$14.00++ each
Deep-fried oyster mushrooms coated with karaage batter and sprinkled with white pepper, black pepper and chilli powder, while get cheesy with parmesan bacon cauliflowers to pair with beer.

Iberico Pluma S$38.00++


As for the mains, we had Iberico Pluma served with Korean Gochujang sauce, fresh green coral lettuce, chopped kimchi and sea salt. The Iberico itself tasted flavorful and tender and you enjoy it by wrapping the meat in the lettuce for a Korean experience. What makes the experience unique is the Korean rendition features, but I personally would prefer the fatty grilled meats just like the traditional way.

Hong Kong Egglet S$16.00++

We ended our meal with Hong Kong Egglet that is a popular street snack in Hong Kong. The egglet waffle is served with sea salt ice-cream, yuzu jam and chocolate pop rocks.
