Scotts Grill Singapore – A Hidden Modern European Restaurant at Shaw Centre Worth Visiting

The space that Scotts Grill now occupies has welcomed several different F&B concepts over the years, so I was naturally curious when the Les Amis Group introduced their modern European dining concept here.

Located within Shaw Centre along Orchard Road, Scotts Grill offers a refined yet approachable dining experience. The restaurant strikes a lovely balance between elegance and comfort, making it suitable for date nights, celebrations or simply enjoying a leisurely meal in town.

My friend and I recently visited Scotts Grill to experience their seasonal 7-Course Degustation Menu S$188++ per person). By the end of the meal, we both agreed that it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It’s been a while since a tasting menu impressed me from start to finish, with almost every course thoughtfully executed and leaving a lasting impression.

Dinner started with a bite-sized Croque Madame topped with Sturia Vintage Caviar and Joselito Jamón. It may be just a single bite, but it delivered layers of rich, savoury umami in one mouthful. A simple yet elegant start that whetted my appetite and prepared my palate for the rest of the degustation menu.

Hamachi- Scotts Grill

Next came the Hamachi, served with citrus dressing, blood orange and cucumber dill sorbet. At first glance, the combination seemed quite unexpected, but every element blended beautifully. The cucumber dill sorbet added a refreshing coolness that balanced the richness of the fish, while the citrus and blood orange brought a bright, vibrant finish. Each bite was light, clean and refreshing, making it a delightful summer-inspired course.

Grilled XL Carabinero Prawn- Scotts Grill

The Grilled XL Carabinero Prawn was served with garlic nduja butter sauce, citrus dashi jelly, kosho crème fraîche and shiso paste. Although I’m allergic to prawns, I couldn’t resist trying a bite (Don’t worry! I had taken my antihistamine beforehand!). The prawn was naturally sweet, but the garlic nduja butter sauce was the real star. Rich, slightly spicy and incredibly flavourful, it paired perfectly with the toasted bread for mopping up every drop.

French Turbot- Scotts grill Singapore

The French Turbot was served with maitake mushrooms and Champagne beurre blanc. Turbot can be a tricky fish to prepare well, but the chef did an excellent job. Perfectly grilled with delicate, flaky flesh, the silky beurre blanc complemented the fish without overpowering its natural flavour.

Jeju Island Abalone- Scotts Grill Singapore

Fresh Jeju Island Abalone was sliced and tossed with perfectly cooked linguine in a rich liver emulsion, finished with fragrant seaweed butter. It looked deceptively simple, but every bite was packed with deep umami. The abalone was tender, the pasta was cooked al dente, and the sauce coated everything beautifully without feeling too heavy. Love this Jeju Abalone Linguine.

Signature Roasted Aged Duck Crown- Scotts Grill Singapore

The Signature Roasted Aged Duck Crown was presented tableside before being expertly carved and served. Accompanied by lavender jus “Au Miel”, carrot mousseline, roasted golden beets and a petite salad, it was easily one of the highlights of the evening. Paired with the smooth carrot mousseline, which added just the right touch of sweetness, every bite was well-balanced and thoroughly enjoyable.

Tart Tatin- Scotts Grill Singapore

After a refreshing palate cleanser, dessert arrived in the form of a classic Tart Tatin, made with house-crafted rough puff pastry and served with vanilla ice cream. The buttery pastry, caramelised apples and creamy vanilla ice cream came together beautifully for a comforting finish that wasn’t overly sweet. I rarely finish my desserts, but this was one of those exceptions. I happily polished off every bite.

What stood out most was how Scotts Grill lets quality ingredients do the talking. Every course was thoughtfully executed, with balanced flavours that never felt overly complicated. It’s been a while since I enjoyed a degustation menu where almost every dish hit the mark.

The service deserves a special mention too. The young team was warm, attentive and genuinely passionate about what they do. Their friendly conversations and sincere hospitality made the dining experience feel even more welcoming.
