While exploring Star Wars Day at Legoland Malaysia over the weekend, I got the opportunity to stay at Somerset Medini Nusajaya over the weekend. Somerset Medini Nusajaya (Citadines Medini Nusajaya) located in the heart of Medini is the latest addition staycation to discover in Johor Bahru. Medini is the central business district of the Nusajaya economic zone in Iskandar Malaysia.The 4-star hotel/ serviced residence under Ascott Limited (Capitaland) is only few minutes walk away from Legoland Malaysia. The serviced residence is conveniently located 15 minutes drive from Singapore CIQ 2nd Link and 25 minutes drive away from Johor Senai International Airport.

Since it is a newly open service apartment, there is special opening offer from RM288.00 per night onwards which is equivalent to +/- SGD100 per night. It’s super value for money with fully equipped room and hotel facilities. And the plus point is that there is mini kitchen in the room too!

4. ROOM FACILITIES

I stayed at their Studio Premier room it was fully equipped with all the furnishing. There is also balcony in the room but it was locked at all times. So, if you are wish to open it, you need to request from the hotel.


The room has a mini kitchen and filled with the basic pots and utensils for those who come prepare cooking in the room. There is also a microwave and electronic stove for cooking!

On top of the mini kitchen, the open space wardrobe was filled with an empty basket for guests to put their ‘dirty’ clothes, iron board, iron, hair dryer and also the safety box.
And the dressing table is just next to the wardrobe.
What I love most is the natural lighting that shines through the room during day time was definitely a lovely sight.

5. HOTEL FACILITIES


Guests also can enjoy the amenities when they stay with Somerset Medini. The service apartment has fully equipped facilities for adults and kids at Level 1.

You can have a swim at their infinity swimming pool with Legoland Hotel view, gymnasium for those who enjoy doing workout during the stay and air-conditioned children’s playroom with under the sea theme complete with lego bricks.

6. IDEAL STAY FOR FAMILY
Serviced apartment is always a good choice for family staycation. Every family member is able to stay together in the room. The mini kitchen in the room enables mummy to prepare quick meal for toddlers if required.

7. WATCH ‘SUNRISE’ IN YOUR ROOM

I managed to catch the sunrise when I stayed over the weekend. It was 7.00am in the morning where this magical shot happened. All we did was to wake up early and gaze through the glass window to witness the beautiful sunrise.

Instagrammers love minimal shots and landscape photography. You can find plenty of instagram-worthy shots around the surroundings of the service apartments.

9. 24 HOURS SECURITY
We are quite concerned on safety security whenever we travel out of comfort zone. Here in Somerset Medini, you can rest assured that there is 24-hours of security services available. I reached the hotel around 12midnight and there are security officers standing around the building. Thus, I trust that the management do take into consideration and emphasizes on the importance of providing assurance to guests.

10. COMPLIMENTARY WIFI
Guests can enjoy 24 hours complimentary WIFI services even in public areas. I think this is so important nowadays that everyone wants to stay connected all the time. You can also save the SIM card money for a cup of drink?

It was a pleasant stay with Somerset Medini during the trip with friendly and approachable staff. The only disappointment is their breakfast feast.I wish their breakfast lounge will be ready soon.The breakfast feasts are currently prepared by third party as their restaurant has yet ready to serve the guests. I hope to visit them again when their restaurants are ready soon.
