[SG EATS] SPIFFY DAPPER | 73 AMOY STREET, SINGAPORE
Spiffy Dapper is located at the second floor of 73 Amoy Street which is also a walking distance from Tanjong Pagar or Telok Ayer MRT station. The place is known as Dapper Coffee during the day time where they serve caffeine fix while Spiffy Dapper is well-known with its experimental drinks and their house blend. Interesting concept and ideas to cater to different customers needs around the area. Customers can also request for customized blend drinks and the bartender will mix creatively accordingly. You can name the drink after your name too!I was invited to Spiffy Dapper for the night session along with foodie friends last month. Although we are aware of their signature drinks, I realized that there is no food reviews found in social media. Thus, we would like to explore further. We were told that the head chef, Christine Seah has launched the new menu 2 months back for Spiffy Dapper and we glad to be able to try.
Baked Whole Camembert S$16.00
It’s an ideal choice to start off with this or even to pair it with a cocktail. The camembert has the creamy interior texture characteristic that goes well with the honey sweetness and balsamic grape pickles. With a spread on top of the crispy bread, you can’t get enough of it.
Salmon Ceviche S$16.00
This dish has the combination taste from cilantro, chill lotus root chips and leche de tigre sauces.Citrus based taste gives a kick as snacks for drinks and serve as an appetizer before main course is served.
Parma Ham & Melon Ribbons S$15.00
You wouldn’t go wrong with honey lemon-melon dressing and cantaloupe with parma ham.
Stuffed Squid S$20.00
Filling squid ink stuffed with Mexican rice and chipotle aioli brulee. Overflowing presentation of the rice gives a very nice feeling about the dish.
Spanish Meatballs S$21.00
This is well-received among the customers. It is served with roasted red pepper, sundried tomato sauce, sesame and the meatballs are made with caul fat and crispy iberico bits. Loving the size of the individual meatballs and the meats were juicy and tender. The table behind us ordered 3 times throughout the night. So, you can pretty guess how good this is.
Butter- garlic Shrimp S$15.00
The shrimps are prepared with parsley-garlic brown butter, dehydrated lemon and paprika. Flavorful dish but given the price offer, I would expect more from it.
Best place for chill and house blend drinks from the bar. As for food wise, it’s worth trying especially the Spanish Meatballs. If you are a drinker, do not miss out this bar place. You will be addicted with the creativity and their solid drinks and be back for more.
One thing to highlight is that if you are a person like me who loves to feed your camera first, the lighting here is quite challenging. The ambiance of the restaurant is dim or rather dark.
Thanks Rebecca for the invitation.
