[SG EATS] HOUSE AT 8D DEMPSEY ROAD- WHAT’S NEW MENU?
It was my first visit to House last Saturday for a tasting session. House is located at Dempsey Hill where it is a international food districts. The House has a consistent good review on social media platform and I was looking forward for the session. The restaurant has beautiful and cosy settings that left me a deep impression.
So, what’s new in House this time?
Brocoli, Quinoa & Pom Pom Salad S$18.00++
This plate of salad served with their in-house mix of super leaves, nuts and sprouts, tossed with quinoa, crunchy sprouted broccoli and aromatic coriander. And they add on pomegranate raita for the plating and enhance the texture of the dish.
Bacon & Egg in a Naan Jam S$22.00++
Caramelized bacon with sunny side up egg, spicy tomato jam and cream cheese on grilled naan roll. The fresh New Zealand egg yolk that was on point that makes it perfect for this dish.
Baked Pumpkin and Goat’s Cheese Rigatoni S$23.00++
For vegan lovers, check out this hearty, wholesome rigatoni pasta baked with sweet pumpkin and fresh sage leaves, crumbled over the goat’s cheese and housemade almond amaretti before baking again to golden perfection. Simple as it looks but it was a tasty filling dish.
Baked Scallops on Shell S$24.00++
The Hokkaido scallops served with mixed spiced up Mediterranean eggplant zaalouk and crumbly Spanish Migas on top. What I enjoyed the most is their mixed spices that enhance the flavour of the scallop.
Portobello Schnitzel Bun S$28.00++
Veggie burger alert mode on! The schnitzel is made up of breaded Portobello and Provolone, and then tucked in between a Tiong Bahru arugula bun. Then, it was assembly with House’s mint and apple green slaw, pickled cucumber and housemade spicy mayo along with their sweet potato nibblets. The Portobello was nicely breaded and yet retain the juiciness of it. I find the sweet potato was too sweet with the coated sugar though.
Bone Marrow and Steak Burger with Bacon Jam S$29.00++
House’s original steak patty with added bone marrow, fried onion rings, cabbage, provolone cheese, housemade spicy mayo and bacon jam. And of course it was served along with sweet potato nibblets. This is indeed a filling and intense flavour.
Stinky Meets Crispy Chicken Waffles S$24.00++
Loving the crispy ‘har cheong gai’ chicken with waffles. It was even perfect with the sambal maple syrup drizzled over the dish. I would highly recommend having it while it’s hot before the waffles become hard to enjoy.
So, with its newly revamped menu, it’s time for you to head down for a visit soon.
