It’s Christmas in 2 months time and Jamie’s Italian will be celebrating the holiday session with a duo of Christmas menu from 28 November to 31 December 2016. They will feature festive Italian classics with a Jamie Oliver twist. So, you can check out the menus at both outlets; Jamie’s Italian Forum and Vivocity. On top of these, they will also be giving back this Christmas, with donations from the proceeds of all kids’ meals going towards helping the Singapore Children’s Society.

I was invited for a sneak preview for this Christmas feast sometime back. Here are some of the dishes that I tried from the Christmas Menu:

STARTERS
Smoked Salmon Crostini
Crunchy sourdough adorned with herby whipped ricotta, smoked salmon and fresh grated horseradish. A good starter to kick off the meal.

Festive Italian Pate
Toasted ciabatta topped with silky smooth free range chicken liver and vin santo pate, grated parmesan and crispy sage.

Bresaola Salad
Cured beef bresaola slices with creamy ricotta, sliced pears, garden leaves, toasted almonds with parmesan and aged balsamic. The air dried salted beef has been aged for 2-3 months was smooth in texture and a nice balance of saltiness.

MAINS

Gennaro’s Porchetta
Porchetta stuffed with their secret blend of chilli, fennel, orange zest, apricot, apple and herbs. The pork belly is slow cooked overnight and then crisped up to order.

Roasted Baby Chicken
The whole roasted chicken marinated in herbs before roasting to perfection. The dish served with pork sasusage stuffing wrapped in pancetta, proper bread sauce and gravy. I am quite impressed that the breast meat was tender and moist. Nicely executed.

Wild Mushroom Pappardelle
Vegan lovers can order this dish here during the xmas lunch menu. The pastas are made fresh everyday on premises. The pappardelle toasted with pan-fried Paris brown and oyster mushrooms in a garlicky porcini mushroom sauce with fresh chilli and a lemony gremolata.

Seabass
Pan-fried seabass with white wine, chilli, fennel and garlic broth served with steamed mussels and saffron aioli.

All the main courses come with a side of potatoes roasted with rosemary, brussel sprouts roasted and topped with parmesan and pangrattato, parsnips, celeriac and squash roasted with olive oil and rosemary.

DESSERTS

Tangy Lemon Tart
Buttery biscuit base topped with a silky smooth lemon curd, vanilla ice-cream, fresh pomegranate and mint tips. Citrusy and yet cleanse our palate. It was our favourite that night.

Tiramisu Pavlova
Crunchy meringue on the outside topped with a scoop of tiramisu and a scoop of chocolate ice-cream, crushed toasted hazelnuts and hot chocolate sauce.

White Chocolate Cheesecake
The cheesecake is made using mascarpone cheese and consists of a crunchy amaretti biscuit base, silky smooth Clementine curd, orange segments, mint and crushed honeycomb. Oh boy! It was robust in flavour and not over cloying treats.

Festive Lunch Menu S$49.90++ (12:00PM – 4:00PM)
3-course lunch menu (inclusive of a starter, main and dessert)

Festive dinner Menu S$65.90++
3-course dinner menu (inclusive of a starter, main and dessert)

Both menu comes with a welcome glass of bubbly and guests can also supplement their menu with a glass of limoncello for an additional S$5.50++ and a cup of coffee or tea at S$3.50++ per pax.
