Bistro Kai has always been my colleague’s favourite birthday celebration lunch. So, I decided to blog about it after few visits. Bistro Kai is located along Purvis Street which is just a few minutes walking distance from Bugis Junction and City Hall MRT station. The restaurant is actually under Hotel Kai, the boutique hotel.

Since the hotel serves breakfast for their hotel guests, they also extended their menu to lunch and dinner as well. Bistro Kai offers 3- course set lunch priced at S$18.00 nett. Pretty affordable and the best part is that they even offer 20% off the total bill if customers paid in cash. So, yeah further savings!

3- course set lunch offers the choice of appertizer, mains and drinks. If you would like to have desserts and ala-carte snacks, there will be additional charges applicable.

Appertizer
Two options- soup of the day or mixed green salad. So, I opt for soup of the day which is mushroom soup. The soup was not diluted and I can taste the creaminess in it.

Mains
There are a total of 9 mains to choose from and my choice of that day is Australian Grade Striploin Steak with I need to top up S$2.00. Seared sirloin steak with black pepper sauce served with summer vegetables and buttery mashed potato. And if you prefer fries, you can request to change the mashed potato to fries with no additional charges. I enjoyed the succulent tender medium rare done steak and the portion is generous too.

Choice of Drinks
Coke/Coke Zero/ Sprite/Ice Lemon Tea/Coffee/ Tea.
I opt for Sprite and sorry no photo taken for the drink.

Total bill was S$68.05 for 4 lunch sets and 1 ala-carte snack. The price is inclusive of 10% service charge and 7% GST. If you are nearby Bugis area during lunch hour, you can give this a try. The foods here are generally decent with affordable pricing especially the further 20% off discount if you are paying by cash.
