[SG EATS] JAPANESE SOFT CREAM BUNS BY HATTENDO

Hattendo Singapore Café has recently opened at Tanjong Pagar Centre. It is just right opposite Japan Rail Café. Hattendo also known as “八天堂 “ is a well-established bakery founded at Mihara, Hiroshima in 1933. Singapore is the first non-franchise outlet operate out of Japan. So, Nicole , Nicholas and I went to check them out few days back. There are five flavours to choose from ( Custard, Fresh Cream, Azuki, Matcha and Chocolate). All flavours are priced at S$2.50 each. We bought all flavours to try.

My favourite picks are matcha, chocolate and azuki. The Japanese chilled bun looks ordinary simple just like normal bun. But the moment you take a bite or tear into half, you can see the goodness of the creamy fillings! We went gaga over it and took a few shots.

They have open kitchen overlooking the staff working on the buns

All the buns are soft and delicate while the fillings are smooth and creamy. The matcha has a light flavour while the chocolate flavour tasted like chocolate milk drink. It is rich in flavour. Azuki which is the red bean paste is another highlight as well.It has different texture as compared with the rest. All the creamy fillings tasted delightful and be sure to lick off all of it. I think I can have more than 2 buns.
As for the custard and fresh cream flavours, I find it rather ordinary except for its smooth texture.

I heard that it has been selling quite fast and even sold out by noon. If you are working around Tanjong Pagar area, you can check them out. They also offer salads as well.
