[SG EATS] SENS Japanese Restaurant @ Raffles Holland Village

I visited Sens located at the basement of Raffles Holland Village a week ago. This new Japanese restaurant is within the gourmet grocer TASTE. This 42-seater dining joint offers contemporary Japanese cuisine such as sashimi, sushi, teppanyaki, yakitori and also Japanese craft beers and sake.

Diners can also grab ingredients from TASTE and have the chefs to prepare a meal for you. It is rather interesting. The charges are at S$8.00 for every 100grams of ingredients with a choice of pan-seared, charcoal-grilled or tataki-style.

Moving on to the dishes we tried that night:
Sashimi Moriawase Mix S$48.00
SENS-Sashimi Moriawase Mix
This fresh sashimi platter comes with 5 different kinds of sashimi. The common ones include salmon, hamachi, ebi and maguro are in the platter.

Aburi Salmon Mentai Roll S$18.80

I will never say no to Salmon and mentai. I am loving the combination flavours of the ingredients.

Miyazaki Wagyu Tataki S$68.80

My favourite dish of the night goes to this dish. Flavourful sliced wagyu which was lightly seared on the outer layer. Look at the well-marbled pinkish meat.

Beef Kaku Ni S$16.80
SENS-Beef Kaku Ni
Fork-tender piece of beef texture I would say. I would ask for a bowl of rice to pair with it.

Foie Gras Teriyaki S$16.00
SENS-Foie Gras Teriyaki
Charoal-grilled foie gras served with teriyaki sauce and Sansho pepper.

Surume Ika S$18.80

Kurobuta Rosu Katsu S$17.50
SENS-Kurobuta Rosu Katsu
Crispy deep-fried pork loin using kurobuta (premium black pig). Having said that, I miss the Gyukatsu I tried in Japan.

Niniku Chahan S$8.00
SENS-Niniku Chahan
Fried garlic fried rice is available as well.

Yakitori S$3.00 ~S$6.90 per 2pc/stick
SENS-Yakitori
For those want to have a drink here, you can order different types of skewers to pair with it. In frame, we have the chicken wings, meatballs, pork belly and mushroom.

I would be back to SENS if I am around Holland Village for Japanese cuisine. I will be back for the Miyazaki Wagyu Tataki for sure. Perhaps I will try out the dishes whipped by the chef from the ingredients I chose from TASTE for my next visit.
