[SG EATS] Okinawa Food Fest At Triple Three | Mandarin Orchard

Triple Three at Mandarin Orchard Singapore is partnering with Okinawa Prefectural Government of Japan to feature wide variety of authentic Okinawa in their dinner buffet. The Okinawa food fest is available from 6 to 16 July 2017. So for Japanese food lovers, don’t miss the chance to check out the food here. Some facts about Okinawa food products:
Fruits and vegetables grown in Okinawa are said to be richer in antioxidants compared with those grown in other parts of the Japan, due to the mineral-rich sea breeze and strong southern sunlight abundant in this tropical prefecture. The warm waters of Okinawa are also known to yield seafood high in protein and low in fat, in particular tuna and white fish varieties.

What can you expect from the Okinawa Food Fest other than their usual international buffet spread?
Flown-in Seafood
There will be flown-in seafood such as throughout the food promotion, especially flown-in seafood such as Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Mackerel, and many more. This includes sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki, and carving stations of the Japanese-inspired international buffet restaurant.

Agu Pork in Shabu Shabu style
“Agu” is the most popular and rich tasting pork in Okinawa. It has a long history and a full grown Agu weighs approximately 100kilograms. As it is quite small as compared to other pigs, the value is much higher too. I would highly recommend trying this in shabu-shabu style. It has the soft quality meat and sweet, flavourful fat that melts in your mouth. I had 3 servings at one go. The best part is that Agu is nutritional, healthy and good for beauty. The chef will do the honour to shabu-shabu upon request to ensure that the meat is cooked in the right temperature.

Cooked Foods Using Okinawa Products
There are Okinawa Soba, Rafuti (pork rib stew), Goya Chanpuru (bitter gourd stir-fried with tofu, pork and egg), and Purple Potato Tempura. Creamy, slightly sweet and unusually high in antioxidants, the Okiwanan purple potato. The purple potato is considered as the main crop that supported longevity of Okinawa based on some of the articles I read.

Desserts
End the night with the delicious array of Okinawa-inspired desserts such as Purple Potato Tart, Chocolate-flavoured Santa Andagi (Okinawa donut), Peanut Tofu with Pineapple Compote, and Hibiscus Cheesecake. My personal favourite is their Purple Potato tart and Chocolate-Flavored Santa Andagi. It was indeed a perfect note to end the beautiful evening.

The Okinawa Food Fest is priced at $108++ for adults and $48++ for children (aged 6-12 years old). It is available from 6 to 16 July for dinner from 6.30pm to 10pm daily.
DBS/POSB/UOB credit card members enjoy 50% off every second adult diner (up to eight diners per card).

Daily dinner delights at Triple Three will continue to feature Okinawa specials every Thursday following the food fest.
