Dehesa has recently launched their new Power Lunch Sets Menu and I was invited down for the tasting session. Dehesa located along North Canal Road is a casual Spanish restaurant helmed by Chef-Owner Jean-Philippe Patruno. He is previously Executive Chef of Una at Rochester Park. The restaurant is an open concept kitchen where diners get to watch chefs in action.
Since I am here for the lunch sets (price range from S$22.00 – S$25.00++) , let me share with you the 3 sets that I tried:
Halloumi Cheese S$22.00++
This is included in the lunch menu as a vegetarian option. This dish is served with quinoa, greens, red onions, and pomegranate and topped with slices of grilled cheeses. And drizzle some truffle oil to complete the dish. The quinoa is soaked up with brava sauce ( Spanish tomato sauce) which gives a hint of smokiness and tint of spiciness after taste. The cheese definitely gives a sense of filling when it is mixed with the ingredients.
Ribeye Steak S$25.00++ for 180g
Steak lovers can opt for Ribeye steak that comes with salad and crispy potatoes. The steak is nicely done with garlic aioli served to give extra flavours to the meat. And I loved their crispy potatoes. It is sliced, layered and baked that followed by deep fried to give a nice crispy exterior to it. I don’t think you can get it at other place as far as I concerned.
Pack of Ribs S$25.00++
Next is their hot-selling dish- Pack of Ribs. It is sous-vide for 12 hours before braised and seared. The ribs size here is rather in smaller size as compared other places. The reason being is that they use Spanish ribs and they choose the other part of the ribs for this dish. The meat is simply soft, tender and easily falls off the bone with flavourful sauce made from molasses and red wine. And the dish is complete with creamy mash and salad.
