[SG EATS] FYR Cycene and Ond Drinc | New Menu Revamp

Exciting news from FYR Cycene and Ond Drinc (FYR) again! The restaurant located within a walking distance away from Telok Ayer MRT has launched a new menu this time. If you read about my previous post on their weekend brunch, you will surely expect something different from their dinner menu. Helmed by Culinary Director Micail Chepi, the new menu comprises the modern European cuisines with the use of herbs and spices found in the Southeast Asian region.Here are some of the dishes from the new menu by FYR:-

Small Plates

Blue Mussels S$15.00FYR Telok Ayer 1

The mussels are cooked with mixed herb, wasabi and laksa leaves. The dish comes with the small mantou to dip with the gravy.

Chilean Sea Bass S$18.00FYR Telok Ayer

Seabass accompanied with prosciutto, diced cubes squids and local fruit salsa. Although overall dish was decent, I find that the price is at the higher side as the size of the seabass was small.

Mains

Braised Beef Short Ribs S$42.00FYR Telok Ayer3 FYR Telok Ayer 4

The beef is coated with the chef’s homemade rendang glaze. The dish was nicely done at the right timing with the soft and tender meat texture. The gravy enhanced the flavours of the beefs.

DeRaza Iberico Pork Chop 280g S$36.00FYR Telok Ayer 2

Nicely done and not overcook. I enjoyed the tenderness of the meat and the salads to complete the dish.

Sharing Plates (For 2-3 pax)

Cape Bryon 100 Day Grass-Fed Angus Tomahawk 1kg S$108.00FYR Telok Ayer 6 FYR Telok Ayer 7

The signature dish and highlighted of the night. The dish was presented as a whole before the staff arranged to slice it for us. The meat has the succulent taste from the spices.

Whole Maine Lobster, Five Spice Whole Chicken & Lamb Saddle S$88.00FYR Telok Ayer 5

The lobster comes with two methods of cooking ; grilled with tumeric oil and laksa leaves béarnaise and steamed baked with clam chowder and java curry croutons.So huge that it is best to share with 3-4 pax.

Desserts

Other than their signature Baked Pistachio Melt and Pandan Ice-cream, there is more desserts selection at FYR now.

Valrhona Triple Chocolate Mousse S$12.00FYR Telok Ayer 8

I personally felt that this is slightly pricey when the portion served. Nevertheless, the chocolate mousse taste was smooth and sweet to mark the end of the meal.

Grilled Lady Finger Banana & Coconut Ice-cream S$10.00FYR Telok Ayer 9

Cut into the shape of lady finger, the banana blended well with the coconut ice-cream. However, the ice-cream melted pretty fast so be quick when you want to grab a shot of it.

Apart of the new additions in the menu list, there will be a live band performance on every Monday, Tuesday (8:00pm – 11:00pm) and Saturday (8:30pm – 11:30pm). Awesome deals available on the nights with live band performance:-
