Re-visited The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill for the second time as E wanted to try their foods. We had made a reservation before hand to avoid disappointment as weekend can be quite a demand. We were greeted by polite and friendly staff who led us to our table setting. You can read my first visit with my foodies friends.
As we were deciding what to have for our Saturday dinner, one particular service staff is friendly and chatty to provide suggestions to us. We had a great laughter night with the presence of the staff.
STARTER
Old Fashioned Crab Cakes S$24.00
Cripsy outer layer stuffed with shredded crab meats in it gives a sweetness taste in it. And with the combination of creamy and sour pickle slaw, it’s is a good recommendation as a starter before the main course.
MAIN COURSE
Daily Catch – Grilled Abalone with Celeriac puree and Eggplant Chips S$44.00
Oh well, we took up the suggestion from the staff and ordered the daily catch. Fresh and chewy abalone that I ever tried before with added flavours from the creamy puree. The eggplant chips were crispy and addictive. We were told that the abalone shells from New Zealand are for us to keep.
Glacier 51 Toothfish S$45.00
I enjoyed this dish very much during my first visit and recommended E to try. The fish served with the brioche crust, olive, saffron corn sauce was nicely done and plated on the table. Soft and tender fish and it could be better if the crust was not too thick that night. Nevertheless, the overall dish was well-done.
DESSERT
Whoopie Pie S$16.00
Since E wanted to try this badly, we ordered this to end the meal. The dessert was thick and well-balance of chocolate sweetness in it. I see the consistency taste since my last visit.
It was a beautiful night with great dining partner and service-friendly staff. As I have The Entertainer App, I am able to enjoy ONE FOR ONE Main Course discount for this meal. Pretty awesome deal and the foods and services here are good and consistent. I surely will be back for more.
