Few weeks ago, I visited Joe & Dough located at Waterway Point for their Easter Day promotion and perfect pairings session. This home grown café chain offers experimental coffee bar concept for customers to have a coffee experience with the professional baristas. We had a great afternoon session learning bits knowledge about coffee with the baristas.
Joe & Dough launches its Cold-Brew Coffee (Black Brew S$6.00 & White Brew S$7.00). Cold Brew process involves beans steeped in cool water for more than 20 hours to produce a smooth cuppa coffee with lower acidity. Joe & Dough’s Cold Brew uses single-origin beans with the Black Brew featuring beans from San Lorenzo, Costa Rica and the White Brew featuring Beans from Alice Estate, Brazil. So, if you are a coffee lover, you might want to give it a try!
Perfect Pairing by Joe & Dough
Americano and Gula Melaka Pandan Cake S$7.80
I personally like the moist and fluffy pandan cake with gula melaka. Enjoy it with a sip of freshly brewed Americano. It is perfect for a chilling afternoon.
Cappuccino and Almond Biscotti S$8.30
The almond biscotto has the crunchy, buttery and nutty flavours and chilled with a cup of cappuccino.
Signature d.r. Joe and Sea Salt Caramel Slice S$8.80
Signature d.r. Joe has a stronger taste as compared to the usual. The thickness is similar as espresso and of course paired it with a rich sea salt caramel cake to balance off the taste. Bit of bitterness and sweetness reminds me of the saying in Malay language “ Susah dahulu, senang kemudian”. This interpreted as taking hardships first and enjoys the fruits later part.
