[SG EATS] FAMILY ORIENTED DINING AT SOUTHWEST TAVERN
Southwest Tavern restaurant is located at Tradehub21. The location is quite a distance away from MRT station. Thus, not everyone will travel all the way here to dine unless they have own transport. Southwest Tavern has been operating for years and have a group of supportive customers. It is a alfresco dining settings so be prepared to sweat a bit if you are dining in the afternoon.
As I looked through their menu, I am quite surprised that they served quite a range of western foods. Pasta, pizzas, seafoods, finger foods and many more. Beers are available as well. So, the place is quite a quiet place to chill with families and friends for those who are staying at Jurong East area.
So, what I had during my visit?
Spam Chips S$8.00
Usually we have Spam fries from cafes but Southwest Tavern is serving chips instead. Superb addictive
Suicide Wings -6pcs S$22.00 / 3pcs S$14.00
This was a killer. Trust me! The spiciness was overwhelming and my tears just literally flowing out.
Blooming Onion S$14.00
A large onion which is cut into a flower shaped, battered and deep-fried. It is best to dip it with mayonnaise sauce.
Seafood Gumbo S$12.00
It was served with seafood include mussels, scallops, squids and prawns. The soup base has a tint of spiciness but it was quite sweet and appetizing.
Beer Butt Chicken S$32.00

This is my second time having this and best to share among 3-4 friends because it comes with a whole roast chicken. The whole roast chicken stuffed with a can of beer will need to wait for approximately 45 minutes.I enjoyed the crispy outer layer of the chicken and succulent taste of the chicken meat. I can taste a bit of the beer flavour in it. Along with it is the rice with raisin and grilled capsicum.
USA Prime Grade CAB Ribeye 300gms S$38.00
The ribeye was nicely grilled and the beef meat was succulent taste. It serves along with fries and brown sauce. This is quite a filling main course.
Braised Lamb Shank S$22.00
The lamb shank was well-braised as the meat can easily off from the bone. And of course the meat texture was soft and tender as well.
As a whole, Southwest Tavern offers quite a range of dishes from appetizers to main course. It is an ideal place for family dinner and the best part it is away from the bustling city area. Diners can just sit and chill after the meal. The cons would be the location for those who are taking public transport.
