[SG EATS] KKO KKO CHICKEN BAR @ KANDAHAR STREET- Korean Fried Chicken & Budae Jjigae Lovers!
Oh well I visited Kko Kko Chicken Bar located at Kandahar Street with Nicholas, Nicole and Amanda on a Monday night recently. Kko Kko Nara first outlet is at Tanjong Pagar and this is their few months old franchise outlet. I was not expecting Korean restaurant along this street because the shops are mostly local, Indonesian and middle-eastern cuisines. It was a quiet street at night I would say. This outlet is bar concept. Thus, this explains the neon lights and chandeliers.
Before this, we had dinner at Zipang Japanese restaurant so we only ordered Budae Jjigae (army stew) S$25.00 and fried chicken (Ma Neul Gan Jang- 8pcs) S$18.00 to share. We also order additional noodles S$4.00. The fried chicken was crispy and crunchy on the outside and succulent in the inside.
As for the army stew, it was comforting and best if I can have it during rainy days. The air con was cooling enough to make me feel warm when I was having this. This pot of goodness includes mushrooms, vegetables, spam, kimchi, ramyun and of course the broth. Surprisingly, the broth is not that spicy at all. It was well-balanced and everything was just nice in place. No wonder my dinner mates love it so much.
And of course complimentary side dishes are available in Korean restaurants.(I didn’t take picture.)
We also had 3 Korean Citron Tea S$5.00 each and 1 Korean Ginseng Tea S$6.00. Total bill was S$91.81 inclusive of 10% service charge and 7% GST. It was indeed a comforting and satisfying meal for us.
