Sarnies located at Telok Ayer Street has recently launched new dinner menu on weekdays crafted by Chef Zak (formerly from Open Farm Community). Since it’s new menu, I proposed the October birthday celebration to be here. 9 of us including the birthday guy visited the café few days back. And guess what? Sarnies is also listed in the entertainer app (#ENTERTAINERSG) which I can utilize my app. One stone kills two birds!
It was full house on Monday night when we arrived. The menu is rather simple and straightforward. Just a page with small font’s size which my friends commented they have difficulties reading it. So, what did we had?
Slider trio- Pulled pork, white coleslaw and homemade BBQ sauce S$14.00
Brioche buns were stuffed with the pulled pork was a good start of the meal. Flavourful smoky flavour sauce blends well with moist pulled pork.
Hand-cut truffle wedges S$10.00
Quinoa salad S$16.50
This plate of goodness served with quinoa, grilled tumeric chicken breast, avocado, feta, mango, chilli, coriander, lime and cherry tomatoes. Few of them have not tried quinoa before. Thus, they couldn’t really enjoy this healthy dish.
Pappardelle S$19.50
We glad that we ordered this. It was our favourite dish of the nice. Nicely coated in a southern Indian curry with rich flavour and the paste are al dente. All on point.
Texas-styled burger S$26.50
Beautiful mess burger with brisket smoked overnight. Two of my friends ordered this and they truly enjoyed it. It was rich, smoky flavour with moist meat texture. It is best to enjoy it with a big bite.
24 hour sous vide Moroccan Lamb S$29.00
The spices and flavours for this dish were bold and strong. The lamb shank meat texture was definitely well-executed and this was served with pearl barley risotto. The whole taste of this dish gives me a feel of Egyptian with dukka added in. If you are not an adventurous person, I wouldn’t suggest you to order this.
Bangers & Mash S$19.00
Two pork sausages served with sweet potato mash and onion gravy.
Blackened grass-fed sirloin S$24.50
The sirloin prepared with Colombian-styke chimichurri and olive oil mash. The meat texture was soft, juicy and tender. It was a safe choice for that night.
Overall the service was good. The staffs are friendly and attentive. It has been a while since I last dine out with good services. We also ordered a jar of Asahi beer and 2 fruit juices. Our total bill after utilizing the Entertainer App was S$304.75 (Inclusive of 10% service charge and 7% GST). We are able to utilize all because we have a total of 9 pax. Our total savings was USD33 for this bill.
