[SG EATS] DRAGON BOWL ( 龍碗 ) CANTONESE RESTAURANT – MARINA SQUARE MALL
We went to Dragon Bowl located at Marina Square last Saturday for lunch. The Cantonese restaurant is located opposite Kai Garden if you are wondering the exact location. Since E wants to have dim sum, we decided to check out this place. Their first outlet started in 2015 at Aperia Mall in case you are wondering the history of this restaurant.Dragon Bowl Restaurant serves Cantonese delicacies ranging from Roast Peking Duck to zi char dishes. And they also serve dim sum which we wanted to give it a try.
The interior of the restaurant is like any typical Cantonese restaurants with round tables. It has the wedding grand hall feel with spacious space between each table.
Their dim sum menu is only available in a page. So, here is what we ordered that day:
Stir Fried XO Carrot Cake S$5.20
Nicely fried carrot cake but the XO taste is not strong enough. I would prefer the ones at Dragon-I though. But E enjoyed it.
Steamed Asparagus Dumpling S$5.20
Loving the presentation of the dumpling and it tasted as good as its presentation. There is prawn meat in the filling as well.
Poached Dumpling in “Mala Sauce” S$4.20
Dumplings bathed with sweetened soy sauce and chilli are smooth and tender in the filling while the outer layer of the dumpling skin is covered with the spices.
Steamed Rainbow Dumpling S$4.80
Colourful combination of various vegetables cut into smaller pieces wrapped with crystal skin.
Seafood fried rice S16.00 (S)
Peking Duck S$38.00
We saw the Peking Duck promotion going on and decided to give it a try. The slicing of peking duck skins are done in front of us by the service staff. They even helped us to wrap it.
As for the duck meat, we decided to have the meat cut and served to the table instead of cooking it with noodles. The duck meat is kinda hard and dry for my liking. If only the taste is as good as Dragon-I or Jiang Nan Chun.
Total bill S$92.51 inclusive of 10% service charge, 7% GST,pickles, tissue paper and drinks. Overall, there are hits and misses I would say but more hits than misses. I will be back for their dim sum but maybe not for their peking duck. I have yet to try their zi char dishes so I couldn’t give further comments. But the service here is definitely well-praised. The staffs are polite, attentive and friendly. Thumbs up for their positive working attitude in serving customers.
