[SG EATS] NINJA BOWL- 4 HEARTY BRUNCH WITH JAPANESE-INSIPIRED FLAVOURS

Ninja Bowl located at 15 Duxton Road offers an all-day brunch options and hearty one bowl meals. This is one of the concepts by Astronauts Group which was founded in February 2012. It is by former 987FM radio deejay Darren Wee. If you are wondering if Ninja Cut is under the same group, the answer is YES.

Ninja Bowl was opened in April 2016 and since then the reviews are all about their hearty one bowl of goodness. But do you know that they have recently revamped some of their brunch items?

Here are the 4 hearty brunch from their latest menu that we tried last weekend:
1. Aligot-O Gozaimasu S$18.00
Crispy pork katsu served with truffle cheese mashed potatoes along with the poached eggs at the side and finished off with ume fennel apple slaw. The truffle cheese mashed potatoes is indeed divine. We can smell the distinctive truffle but the taste wise is not overpowering at all. The pork katsu meat is tender and juicy and we enjoyed it with the appertising ume fennel apple slaw. My angmoh friend loves it.

2. Mentaiko Scrambled S$18.00
If you are a fan of mentaiko, check out this dish. Pan-seared juicy Hokkaido scallops with mentaiko scrambled eggs, edamame, furikake and toast.

3. Ninja Okonomiyaki S$18.00
Okonomiyaki is a Japanese savoury pancakes which variety of ingredients. In Ninja, the pancake is served in mini size along with the 24-hour braised beef cheek and poached eggs. The sliced red ginger and garden greens are served on the side. My friend and I do not really appreciate this because we find that the red ginger with the pancake doesn’t really match well. However, we do enjoy the fork tender beef cheek.

4. Fancy French S$16.00

The instagram-worth fig jam French toast drizzled in umeboshi infused honey, fresh grapes, plums and homemade hazelnut butter on top. There are also edible flowers that make the whole dish so pretty in presentation. We enjoyed the dessert especially the pickled plum infused honey has the sour and sweet taste in it. Interesting!

The meals here are all nett with no service charge and GST. I would say it is pocket-friendly and diners can enjoy a healthy and scrumptious meal in Ninja Bowl.
