[SG EATS] Cinnamoroll fly to Kumoya Café Singapore – Pop Up Theme Cafe
Starting 17 May til 13 August 2017, fans of Cinnamoroll get to visit Kumoya (Singapore’s first Halal-Certified Japanese-French café) to check out the Cinnamoroll-theme pop-up café to mark Cinnamoroll’s 15th anniversary. Cinnamonroll (シナモロール ) is a character series created by Sanrio in 2001, with character designs from Miyuki Okumira. The main character, Cinnamon is a white puppy with long ears, blue eyes, pink cheeks and a plump and curly tail that resembles a cinnamon roll.
The menu is specially curated by Shirley Wong ( @littlemissbento).
Before moving on to the dishes we tried, here are the glimpses of the interior café with cinnamonroll theme.
Main Course
Happy Happy Heart Chicken Karaage with Waffles S$19.90
Buttery waffles paired with juicy karaage chicken with house-made sweet shoyu glaze, mixed salads with cherry tomato, fluffy potato hearts and a cinnamoroll mantou. The cinnamoroll mantou shaped so cute!
Fluffy Dreams Japanese Curry Rice S$21.90
Something comforting and filling? This is the dish to order! The cinnamoroll fluffy Japanese rice with Japanese curry, tempura salmon and mixed salad with cherry tomato.
Flying Clouds Cinnamoroll Burger S$17.90
Crispy chicken katsu sandwiched between vegetables and fresh tomato on a cute Connamoroll mantou burger bun and served with potato chips with nacho cheese and chicken ham, fish cakes and mixed salad. It would be great if they can add on more sauce flavours to the burger. Other than that, it is just good as it looks.
Fun with Friends Cold Pasta S$17.90
Refreshing cold pasta with goma dressing topped with Cinnamoroll mantou and crispy breaded ebi and house-made pasta crisps and chicken ham. If you love fried stuffs, this is for you.
Desserts & Beverages
Signature Eclairs S$13.90 for 4pcs | S$7.90 for 2pcs
Four limited edition Cinnamoroll Eclairs designs with chocolate and vanilla fillings.
Fly-in-the Clouds Yuzu Chiffon Cake S$15.90
Yuzu infused chiffon cake accompanied by fresh cream with mixed berries and fluffy cotton candy.
Cinnamoroll Berries Fantasy Parfait S$17.90
The combination of Kumoya signature dessert with elements of Cinnamoroll characters in it. The soft soufflé cheesecake with mixed berries and limited-edition macaroons and served with specially concocted Blue Lagoon sauce and fluffy cotton candy.
Cutie Cutie Special Cinnamoroll Blue Soda S$14.90
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YblL5q6gueA&w=560&h=315]Blue curacao syrup with nata de coco, slice of lemon and soda water. Lastly, the drink is topped with a cute cotton candy Cinnamoroll. If you want to take a photo, be quick because the cotton candy will not last long. And the drink is quite sweet to my liking.
Sweet Fluffy Dreams Rose Tea S$13.90
Sweet dreams are made of these! Special cold butterfly pea-flower rose tea served with a giant cotton candy cloud. My favourite drink out of the 3 drinks that we ordered.
Floaty Cloud Iced Café Latte S$9.90
Ice latte crafted from UCC Japanese coffee brans served with a special Cinnamoroll cookie, heart-shaped marshmallows and topped with whipped cream.
There are hits and misses on the dishes here but as a whole, it is quite decent for a theme-character café. As we all know that theme-character café foods are generally has beautiful and cute visual presentation but not the food. But here in Kumoya, the foods are not bad and you can have photo taking with the interior of the café too. Win-win situation!
THINGS TO TAKE NOTE:
1. Dining time is limited to 90 minutes.
2. Minimum spending of S$10.00 per person.
