[SG EATS] Exquisite Durian Feast At The Line | Shangri-La Hotel Singapore
You know durian season is back when everyone starting to post durians on their social media platform. There are quite a few hotels offering durian buffet at this durian season as well. The Line, Shangri-La Hotel Singapore has brought back its durian buffet, which is available during dinner time. The buffet features three popular durian varieties- Hong Xia (Red Prawn), D21 and D24 along with tropical fruits such as rambutan, longan and mangosteen.
What to expect from this exquisite durian feast?
1. Fresh durians At Outdoor Kiosk
There is an outdoor kiosk where chefs will crack open the durians on the spot. Hence freshness is guarantee. Look at the beautiful, creamy and vibrant orange-red flash from the Red Prawn and yellow flesh from D21 and D24.
Note: Diners are only allowed to enjoy the fresh durian at the outdoor seating area.
2. Durian Prata
I would recommend trying this durian prata. I was quite skeptical but oh boy! It was crowd pleaser from our table that night. It is best to have it just like this without any gravy. It is just sweet enough to enjoy every bite.
3. Durian Sushi
The sushi topped with azuki beans to give a touch of sweetness and topped with durian.
4. Durian Fried Rice
The thought of adding durian to fried rice sounded interesting but surprisingly the taste of the durian was quite mild.
5. Durian Miso-glazes Scallops
I could really taste the pungent durian taste glazed over the huge scallops. It was sweet and yet still can taste the savoury from the miso.

7. Durian Papaya Salad
Although the taste of durian quite subtle, the spicy taste kicked off after that. It is quite refreshing and best to have it as starter of the buffet.
8. Durian Desserts
Durian desserts including durian pudding, durian tart and durian dome are showcase in the dessert corner.
Apart from the durian series, The Line is already has an extensive spread of offerings including Marine Harvest on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Mad for Wagyu on Wednesdays.
