[SG EATS] Crystal Jade Kitchen At Holland Village- Revamp with New Dishes by Chef Martin Foo
Crystal Jade Kitchen at Holland Village is back to operation after a 2 months long renovation. I rarely explore Holland Village and it is good to be back here to check out the area. All thanks to the invite to this two-storey outlet. The outlet here first opened in 1999 and only outlet that opens at 8.30am daily, afternoon dim sum and sumptuous dinners.
After trying out the special menu by Executive Chef Martin Foo at Crystal Jade Palace, I can’t wait to indulge the new offerings.
Here are the new highlights which will also be introduced at all Crystal Jade Kitchen outlets island wide.
Steamed Siew Mai with Truffle S$7.50++ for 4pcs
Combination of minced pork, prawns, shiitake mushrooms, truffle pate and truffle oil. Distinctive truffle flavours and comforting taste!
Deep-fried Chicken & Dried Shrimp Carrot Dumpling S$5.30++ for 3pcs
This reminds me of the surprise dessert I had at Crystal Jade Palace but this time round it is savoury version. The lovely carrot-shaped nugget filled with lightly-spiced minced chicken filling akin to that of traditional deep-fried yam puff with minced meat. I enjoyed the chewy texture and the filling is appetizing.
Soya Sauce Chicken with Osmanthus S$14.80++/ regular | S$20.80++/half | S$35.00++/whole
Tantalising chicken marinated and basted with osmanthus-infused syrup which imparts a pleasing sweet and fruity note to the juicy bird. There is a subtle floral taste in it.
Steamed Homemade Tofu with Assorted Seafood S$18.80++
This is rather unique as the tofu is served in a traditional wooden tofu press and mould with generous amount of scallops, prawns and shiitake mushrooms. The tofu is made with organic soya milk and eggs and topped with bonito flakes. It would say to go with a bowl of rice. Yums!
Fried Brown Rice with Black Bean Dace Fish & Egg White S$15.80++
Diners can also opt for fried brown rice for a healthier choice. Stir-fried red rice punctuated with the smoky and savoury notes of traditional black bean dace fish and complemeted with spring onions, capsicum and egg whites.
Sauteed Live Prawn with Vermicelli, White Peppercorn, Ginger and Scallion in Claypot S$24.80++
Everyone’s favourite dish that night with fresh prawns, ginger and scallion flavours and complete with tanghoon. Love the depth flavours and the white peppercorn certainly gives the earthy flavors to the dish.
Premium Seafood Congee with Japanese Seaweed S$13.80++
Comforting Cantonese-style congee with umami flavour of kombu (Japanese kelp), scallop, crab and prawn.
Sauteed French Bean with Tai O Shrimp Paste and Minced Pork S$13.80++
Purple Sweet Potato & Taro with Coconut Milk, Gum Tragacanth & Sago S$5.80++
Smooth mousse reminiscent of traditional yam paste or ‘orh nee’.
Deep-fried Sesame Ball with Lava Salted Egg Yolk S$6.80++ for 3pcs
Creamy molten salted egg yolk filling with subtly-sweet mochi-like crisp exterior.
