[SG EATS] Ginger at PARKROYAL on Beach Road – Revamped Into An Instagram-worthy Hotel Buffet Restaurant in Singapore
Ginger at PARKROYAL on Beach Road is used to called Plaza Brasserie has revamped into an instagram-worthy hotel restaurant. The restaurant interior design has caught attention of public every since it’s opening in mid October last month. The interior design is done by award-wining Singapore-based Australian designer Emma Maxwell. The tropical themed space definitely makes the whole place lighten up and totally different from the past concept.
What to Expect From The Buffet?
There are over 53 dishes on the buffet menu. Due to the current social distancing measures, the dishes are served to your table instead. Thus, ordering can be made via the QR code displayed on each table.
The dishes here are a mixture of Singaporean flavours with modern twists. We kick start of buffet dinner with starters, which are the Crips and Crackers with Sambal and Salted Egg Garlic Cheese Bun. They also served Dried Shrimp and Garlic Cheese Bun but unfortunately it was not available during my dining session. It is only available for lunch session. So, do take note if you are eyeing on that.
We moved on to local delights such as Homemade Otah, Sate Lilit and BBQ Chicken Taliwang. I love their Sate Lilit and BBQ Chicken Taliwang. The flavours are there. You can taste the mixed of spices and herbs and the meat texture is soft and chewy. I wish I can eat more but I need to pace myself to try other dishes.
Also, indulge in their special Kueh Pie Tee rendition and Singapore Rojak. Both are daily specials on rotation.
Other Singapore local dishes include Slow-braised Beef Rendang, Satays, BBQ Chicken Wings,Hainanese Chicken Rice, Singapore Laksa with River Prawns and Rock Lobster Noodles Soup are available in the menu. Each individual dishes are served with small portions and it is just nice that we can have a try of everything.
Another must-order dish here is their signature Crabs that comes with different flavours. They have the Singapore Chilli Crab with mantou and Kam Heong Crab. The crab meats tasted fresh and sweet I would say. It is definitely a good deal and their chilli crab gravy has a mildly sweetness in it that suits everybody. Not too spicy and the young kids can probably handle the taste profile too.
There are other more dishes in the buffet menu but we are too full to try all. If you are a fan of seafood, you can check out their Seafood Platter.
We moved on to desserts. The desserts selection include Assorted Nyonya Kueh, Durian Pengat and Chendol Ice-Cream served in a coconut shell. Although I am full from all the savoury, I couldn’t resist the Durian Pengat. I love durians and anything with durian works for me.
Ginger offers mainly local dishes and I think it is one of the recommended family and friends gathering place to go. The food here is a one stop location for a comforting and satisfying local delights. But if you prefer international buffet spread, this might not be an ideal choice.
Ginger is having re-opening special from now till 30 November 2020 where UOB or HSBC card diner can enjoy one dines FREE for every three paying adults.
