[SG EATS] Laifabar – “Bu Jian Tian” Char Siew Noodles At Prestige Centre | Bukit Batok Crescent
Laifabar has relocated to Prestige Centre at Bukit Batok Crescent recently. They used to be at The Scarlet Singapore, Ann Siang Hill. The name “Laifabar” is refer to “let’s prosper” in Mandarin words. The F&B was always full house and long queue whenever I passed by the previous location. They serve traditional old school wanton noodles and other delights with price starts from S$5.50 onwards. There are a mix of online reviews but mostly are positive so I was looking forward to it.I was around Bukit Batok on a Sunday morning so I decided to ask my friend to join me to check out their new location. The new space is located at an industrial area and not conveniently accessible via public transport. It is best that if you grab down or drive.
I wanted to take a picture of the shopfront but I forgotten.Oppss… I took a few shots of the shop interior though. The space decorated with nostalgic inspired feel and old school collection such as the hair steamer, retro cupboards, cups and many more. It is like bring you back to the olden days.
We arrived around 11 plus and there were two tables waiting for their food. We took the order chit and tick our orders before proceeding to the counter to order. Payment to be made upon ordering. The staff also highlighted that we need to wait for approximately 15 minutes for the food.
We ordered the premium Char Siew Wanton Noodles S$7.50 and standard Char Siew Wanton Noodles S$5.50. Springy noodles, charcoal glazed char siew with crunchy pork lards is a good mix bowl of goodness. If you prefer good fats, go for their premium ones. I enjoyed the smokey charred of the char siew that left me wanting for more.
As for the side dish, we decided to try Taupok S$8.00. I am glad that we ordered this because it was so good. Taupok stuffed with minced meat and fish paste fillings. Be sure to dip it with their chilli sauce. The chilli sauce gives you a good punch of spiciness and flavour. Shiok!
There are other sides such as Prawn Fritters, Satay, Chicken Wings, Pot Stickers, Ngoh Hiang and more in the list.
My friend and I had a satisfying meal. I even packed the noodles for my sister to try. She also gave me a thumbs up. But it is pricier than the average wanton noodles at hawker stall though with premium ingredients used. I will come back for more but not all the time considering the location. Nevertheless, they are available for takeaway and online delivery too.
