I am back to Johor Bahru on a Sunday afternoon and my dad decided to bring me to Kulai for early dinner. He recommended this hidden gem roast duck place located along the main road. Apparently only the locals know about this food spot, and I did google about it. I am unable to find much information about this place too. The journey is approximately an hour car ride from Jb to Kulai.If you prefer a nearer choice, you can try Taika Hua Braised Duck too. 

My parents have visited this place several times and even recommended friends too. I was quite skeptical with it as the place is not the typical coffeeshop but more of the rundown old shop houses outlook. And we were one of the few early customers for dinner on a rainy day.



We ordered half roasted duck, tofu, mixed large & small Intestine, pig skin and roast meat to share among 4 of us. My dad was not very hungry, so we ordered 1 bowl of white rice and 2 kuay teow soup to share. The roast duck meat was quite impressive. It was tender, juicy, sweet and taste of herbal. We loved it! It goes very well with the rice and kuay teow.





The large & small intestines were equally good too. The large and small intestines are clean thoroughly and totally no smell at all. Same goes with the pig skin. The cooked kuay teow are also served in the same broth used to braise the duck and large & small intestines.


Not forgetting the crispy roast meat and soft tofu to complete the meal.

We had a flavourful and comforting meal. Total bill was RM56.90 including 3 drinks. You can also opt for RM6.50 per pax for a plate of duck rice. Alternatively, get a whole duck at RM60 to share for big groups.You can always give them a call before you drop by to make sure they are open for business as they open from 5pm onwards.
