Coffee Signature is a 2 weeks old (soft opening on 27 Oct 2015) container concept café located at Jalan Serampang, Johor Bahru. If you been to this area, the whole stretch of double-storey individual houses are bridal shops. Some of the bridal shops has converted their second storey of the building to restaurants and cafes recently.
Coffee Signature is easily noticeable with its black theme containers. Thus, the space for the container is limited. There are outdoor sitting area as well to accommodate more customers. We arrived around 3pm and it was drizzling rain and no indoor seats are available. Thus, we sat at the outdoor area for a while before we managed to get a seat inside the café.
Since everyone is raving about the Instagram-worthy signature drink, we decided to get one and other foods to try.
Sweet Rain [甜心雨] RM16.90
Signature drink is beautifully set up like the cloud with raindrops presentation is truly Instagram-worthy. There is an option to choose between tea and coffee. We opt for coffee and the overall presentation was so pretty not to be miss. As the cotton candy starts to melt, it drips down like the raindrops. Although it’s gimmicky, the overall taste is still decent.
Ice Blended Green Tea RM11.90
The drink is served in bulb shape which gives us another chance for photography. The ice-blended green tea doesn’t really taste blended though.
Fungi Pollo E Olio RM26.00
Spaghetti served with wild mushroom, grilled chicken, garlic, olive oil , chilli and parsley. Loving the combination and it is quite appetizing especially with chilli added in. The mushroom taste also enhanced the taste of the dish.
Huevos Rancheros RM21.00
This dish consists of braised onion, tomatoes, jalapenos, cumin, topped with egg is best to enjoy with the toasted bread. If only, they serve more toasted breads. It has the distinctive sweetness taste and slight spicy after taste. I love the combination taste of the spices.
Total bill RM81.20 inclusive of 10% service charge. I would return to try their other savoury dishes as it looks promising in the menu and as well on other tables. I was not expecting much on the savoury dishes but turned out to be wrong. The only thing that I think need to be improve is their serving time. It took more than 20 minutes to serve the foods. It’s their initial soft opening and hope their operations will be better for the next visit.
