[TAIWAN EATS] Kao Chi (高記) – Xiao Long Bao & Sheng Jian Bao Restaurant At Taipei

Apart from famous Din Tai Fung in Taipei, you can opt for Kao Chi at Yong Kang Street, Taipei. The restaurant has several outlets across Taipei. But the one in Yong Kang Street seems to be a popular destination because of it’s 3-storey flagship store. The brand is established since 1949 and has been serving Shanghainese dishes. We arrived around 11 plus in the morning and got our queue number from the staff. We waited less than 20 minutes and managed to secure a table at level 3. [TAIWAN EATS] Fei Qian Wu 肥前屋 – The Famous Unagi Restaurant In Taipei (Not Worth Queuing)

I am back to Taipei, Taiwan on the last week of December 2018 for a short gateway and visited Fei Qian Wu 肥前屋 for dinner. Fei Qian Wu 肥前屋 is known for its famous unagi don or unadon in Taipei. The restaurant is established over 50 years ago by a Taiwanese-Japanese family. We were there around 4.20pm and started to queue for early dinner. We were 2nd in line and the restaurant is open for dinner at 5pm. So, yeah! We queued for 40 minutes for this. Lu Rou Fan or we called it Braised Pork Rice 滷肉飯 is listed top Taiwanese cuisine all time. It is a Taiwanese specialty dish that is simple and comforting. Braised pork rice bowl in savoury, rice sauce and drizzled over the rice. Yummy! Our hotel receptionist recommended Huang Ji Braised Pork Rice that is located near to Aloft Hotel Taipei Zhongshan.It is also located next to Qingguang market and 7-eleven convenience store near to the hotel. Does the title remind you of Five Ten? Yes, you are right! The Salted Plum is the same folks behind Five Ten (Closed) at North Bridge Road. This new concept restaurant took over the defunct Bakbak Bak Kut Teh. The Salted Plum has a strong selling point, which is their lunch bowls at S$10.00 and dining dishes starting from S$5.00 onwards. [TAIWAN EATS] Mr Meat Hot Pot & Butchery (肉大人) – Hotpot in Da’An District | Taipei

During my recent trip to Taipei, Taiwan, I visited a hotpot restaurant called Mr Meat (肉大人) with fellow foodies. It is recommended by a friend as this is her favourite hotpot place.
