Whenever weekend comes, JB café hopping is one of the activities that we do across the causeway. Faculty of Caffeine is one of the first JB café that is by walking distance from City Square mall and JB check point. The café is also the earliest café that start operating which I would recommend to drop by if you reach JB by 9am to beat the traffic. This is what my friends and I do. An addition hipster café along Jalan Dhoby, Johor Bahru was spotted. Flowers in the Window Cafe (just opposite The Replacement Lodge & Kitchen) is from the team behind The Roost Café, Bev C and Sea & Saw. The team has never failed to impress with their interior designs of the café. Each café has their own individualistic that never draws the attention of caféhoppers. As for Flowers in the Window, the café focuses on flowery theme. As you step into the café, you can feel the rustic and contemporary designs with flowery as the main focus. Miyakori Coffee is the latest café addition by foot in Johor Bahru. Their first outlet was located at Bukit Indah with cute theme interior design and menu. Congrats on the second outlet expansion and it is located just inside City Square Shopping mall. It’s an ideal location to have crowds coming in from Singapore. Miyakori Coffee is located at level 5 of the mall with a nice clean white furbished design. There are only coffee, tea, pastries and cakes available in this outlet. Just Want Coffee which is commonly naming JWC is well-known in café scenes in Johor Bahru (JB). Perhaps 8 out of 10 people have been to at least one of their concept cafes. You wouldn’t be surprised as their name is well-established in Singapore and Johor Bahru. If you ask hipsters cafes in JB, JWC café will definitely be in the list. KOONE started its soft opening on 12^th November 2015 and I decided to visit them over the weekend. The softserve parlour is few doors step away from The Replacement- Lodge & Kitchen to give you a clue of the exact location. KOONE is also just next door to TIP, The Ice-Cream Project. Since we need to wait approximately 45 minutes for our Korean-style fried chicken to be ready, we decided to drive to Eco Spring Show Village for this newly pop up store called Lis Gelato. It is located just few foot steps away from Palladium Café (I blogged about it previously). You will not miss this gelato store as it shares the outdoor seating areas as well.  Read More

Coffee Signature is a 2 weeks old (soft opening on 27 Oct 2015) container concept café located at Jalan Serampang, Johor Bahru. If you been to this area, the whole stretch of double-storey individual houses are bridal shops. Some of the bridal shops has converted their second storey of the building to restaurants and cafes recently. Read More

The glass house café located at Eco Spring Show Village, Johor Bahru is inspired by Jay Chou’s MV (Handwritten Past,手寫的從前) was operating since early September this month. The inspired cafe is going to be stationed there for around 2 month’s time. The café is currently operated by Coffee Concept Company.
