Whenever I heard about waffles, the image that appears in my mind is the squarish shape with ice-cream toppings or savoury items on top of it. Oh boy, this time round is different! It is served is thin long waffles stick by Hvala Waffles Bar !

Located at Basement 3 of 313 Somerset shopping mall, there is another form of waffles that think out of the box. This waffle bar is operated by a young couple, Benmin and Lynette. The waffles are categorized into “ Fruitalicious” and “ Timeless Desserts”.
The business is apparently well after office hours on last Friday when we dropped by. Since it’s freshly made upon orders, you may need to wait a while. We had Smurfy S’mores S$3.80 and Berries Delight S$3.80. Healthy fresh fruits topped with the yogurt and cream cheese frosting. But my favourite is the Smurfy S’mores. The chocolate fondue with flame-touched marshmallows and graham crumbs and not overwhelmed with the chocolate sweetness.


Real Vanilla Soft Serve S$3.00 is available with a choice of chocolate fondue, maple syrup or salted caramel sauce. You can add S$2.50 for a cup of vanilla soft serve with waffles too. We tried their vanilla soft serve with maple syrup recommended by Benmin. The soft serve doesn’t melt that fast as we took some photos before enjoying it.
If you are craving for waffles and mind your calories or easy to take away, you can give Hvala Waffles a try when you are nearby. It is convenient to enjoy while doing some window shopping too! Show some support to them and give it a try! Perhaps you might love it!

It’s good to have a blog to flashback my last visit here. My re-visit for this time round is for their egg waffles dessert inspired from the famous dessert store in Hong Kong called Oddies Foodies. If you been to Hong Kong and follow the trend in instagram, you surely heard about Oddies Foodies- where they are known for their egg waffles dessert topped with gelato, panna cotta, ice-cream, brownies and etc. It’s an instagram-worthy dessert not to be missed by instagrammers.

So, being the first in Singapore to have this inspired dessert, it has attracted Singapore instagrammers to their kiosk. It is comes with free customization for your soft serve with any 2 toppings at S$7.90. An additional topping is charged at S$1.00 each. As for the egglet, it can be sold separately at S$3.90 that comes with one topping of your choice.

The toppings available includes fruits, crunch like the digestive biscuits, colourful cornflakes and many more. We told the boss to give us the colourful ones and opt for soft serve with black sesame sauce. There are other sauces available including salted caramel, chocolate, maple syrup and speculoos. I think black sesame sauce is a good pick! The taste was not overwhelming and it goes pretty well with the soft serve. I had my egglet coated with chocolate sauce and colourful toppings. I would suggest trying the black sesame sauce with soft serve first before getting your hands on the egglet with chocolate. This is because the chocolate taste is stronger and you can’t really taste the black sesame sauce after that.

Also,for the waffles and cake in a cup, you can just top up S$1.00 to change your waffle or cake to the ‘Puffle’ (egg waffles) instead. It is indeed a good take for Hvala Waffles Bar to start this wave in Singapore. This will surely boost their business especially during these festive seasons where there is a increase of shoppers in the mall. Perhaps we will have cotton candy serve with soft serve soon since cotton candy desserts are getting good response as well. We shall wait for their new creation soon.
