The restaurant interior design has caught attention of public every since it’s opening in mid October last month. The interior design is done by award-wining Singapore-based Australian designer Emma Maxwell. Jia Yuen Eating House located at 15 Crane Road is a quiet coffeeshop around Joo Chiat vicinity area. The eatery shop is not noticeable as it is nestled among a row of shophouses and opposite residential housing. We were there on Saturday late noon for our lunch and the whole place is dim like closed for business. But we saw there are people having their meals there and went ahead to check it out. Read More

Tau Sar Piah is said to be invented in 1972 and has been going strong since then. Tau Sar Piah (豆沙饼) refers to Mung Bean Paste Biscuit. 233 Banh Mi previously occupied 233 Joo Chiat Road offering wide range of Vietnamese cuisine has now specialised in selling banh mi (Vietnamese Bread) only. The owner, Lily was there at the cashier counter taking orders and payment when we visited the eatery shop for a quick lunch.
